I run CM10.1 (4.2.2) full time and it's very very very good. I must admit it's the best android version so far.

I've actually never tried that but downloaded it yesterday, is it the nightly build you use or a stable release? and what phone?

S3 :D Nightly, and i never ever had a crash or mayor issues.

Does upgrading a system remove your apps and root?

I run vanilla 4.2.2 on my S2 and it runs very smooth.
I dont have any reason to upgrade to S3 or S4.
