My first post :) Actually my second. Anyway, " Coding Hub", what i plan to do is, first assemble a team,the journey to build a sort of Project Hosting website, such as http://sourceforge.net (http://sourceforge.net)/ , ,http://code.google.com/hosting/, (http://code.google.com/hosting/,) https://github.com/ (https://github.com/) and many other more. I realise this might be somehow not so much of a money-generating idea since there are tonnes of project hosting sites out there,
Then why do this?
First and foremost it is an enormous task, good for beginners and basically those who are out here to learn more,, it will be coded in PHP and MySQL,nothing too complicated, at other stages, i might see the need to build desktop software that is integrated with the whole system or like i could suite it to Evilzone coders specifically..

The fun part about it is not so much has been decided about this project yet,so this is why i call any person to join the team, feel free to PM me or post here any questions.. ;D ;D ;D

Personally i don't have much time to go hands on in PHP or MySQL yet but i think its a good idea. You never know it could be upgraded here for much of our use (though am sure Ande would have better coders at it to be intergrated in Project Alpha).
Spread the word, students might have free time this summer.

You could use a PHP framework, unless you like to code your own functions that are otherwise well-tested and can save your time. My personal choice is EllisLab's CodeIgniter. Since it makes uses of classes, it's plain easy to divide the problem into "logic objects" which is of great help with modularization and scalability. I know your intention of making it "nothing too complicated", but even when simple, it could become a sort of complex task.
For the frontend... Bootstrap is being widely used along with jQuery.
"Large Web Apps" e-book helps with how you can come to an approach to this. "Fast Web Sites" too. I think both are from O'Reilly. Enjoy the path! Code is poetry.

I mean I think this is a bit of a waste of effort no offense. If you really want something like this there is always gitlab and a few others which are well documented, supported, and made. I personally wouldn't waste my time on this but I can see how it might be fun for some.
