: jonneburger July 04, 2013, 08:38:23 AM
I bought a new laptop a week ago.
(Don't yell at me, it was for portability purposes)

8gb ram
2.5ghz
Win8 (for now)
15.6Inch
1Tb hdd
2Gb graphic card
I havent had time to get into it much, been playing mainly.
Which leads me to the point. I'll let you suggest,  what i download on it. But try to stay in forums idea.
You can also complain how bad decision i made but atleast use good grammar.

skip the ubuntu step and start directly with debian. Maybe a debian based mint (not the ubuntu one) or my all time favorite crunchbang :)

RBA; You know I love you right? You just listed my two favorite Linux distros!

OP: The specs aren't that bad actually and the price seems fair. Lol, you complain about bad grammar, have you seen your own posts?

That's a legit box. What are you playing on it?
Speaking of buying new laptops, I'm looking into Chromebook Pixel, just for the resolution. Do you think it's worth getting if I make it windows/linux dual boot? Screw chrome os.

That's nice. On my opinion if i buy a laptop. I will choose laptop that don't have windows installed on it already it will cut the price lower  :D . Since you had that laptop already and love playing games like me specially assassins creed.
windows for main OS then install any linux OS you like in virtual machine.

Maybe that's why we get along so well? I also vote for debian, it was my first *nix distro, and so far it's still one of my top ones. I use it for my coding machine, with Gnome

On a side note, nice laptop :)
