Okay, so I'm pretty interested in low level hacking, but this guy manages to reverse engineer the logic on his HDD so that he can have it execute his own arbitrary code.  I thought it was like INSANE that this was possible. The cool thing about this article though, is that he explains everything he did in a fair bit of detail.

I read this article a few days ago, too.

While it is a formidable hack, it just goes to show you what hardware vendors enable when they don't have any type of signing or integrity certificate.
