: [Free] SMS Spoofing
: Snayler August 23, 2013, 07:50:07 PM
Hey guys!

While looking for a way to spoof text messages, in order to show a friend it is possible and quite easy, I found this free service with support for almost every country. No registration required, and completely free. Service is fast, the message will be delivered almost instantly, from my experience.

The only restriction is their "Fair Use" policy, which may block you from sending messages to a given number if you have previously and in a small time-frame sent messages to that same number. It may also block you if you abuse the service, although I'm guessing it would be easy to find a workaround if it happens.

Anyway, here's the link: http://www.afreesms.com

Cheers!

This looks VERY good. So good in fact, that I am a bit suspicious about it: could there possible be a catch in a site like this? I mean, they got to have expenses of their own, do the couple of ads that are on their site really cover it? And is there a chance that the numbers we enter will get stored & spammed in some point in time?

PS.

How do you give people cookies? I have stumbled upon a dozen good posts by now and can't seem to find the button to give people props?

Well, I've used an unused SIM card I had laying around for testing the service, since my phone carrier likes to hand them over for free (something about handing them out to my friends, a.k.a. free marketing labour). Since no one has that number, I can post here if at any point in time I start receiving messages/calls.

You can't until you reach the 10 posts mark.

They really have taken alot of trouble to cover alot of ground, i wouldn't rule out the possibility of a catch like having to collect all those phone number for whatever purpose and still mapped up to you.

Btw, there was a thread on sms sending without using a third party API. I think it was a PHP thing. Am gonna try find it.

Well, either way I'm assuming no one will use this service with their own number. But I could be wrong, people never stop to amaze me...

I tried it in my country and it worked. Try it without the "+" sign from the country code in the Sender ID field. When I first tried it, I had it like +<country code><phone number> and it didn't work.

Works fine for my country.
Altho it gave me temporary error messages and told me to try again later in some previous attempts.

Thanks, it worked for me. The other guy was right to assume there's probably a catch, either spyware or data mining.

One reason why I think it would be a lot of fun to code my own. I recently thought about at least coding my own texting tool since I have no phone. Something like TextNow (http://www.textnow.com/). Spoofing would come later.

Just looked at TextNow (http://www.textnow.com/), and would be a great idea.
