So yeah what is your favourite book?
-
Damn, very good question. I have a lot of books I enjoy and have read multiple times. If I had to divide them up:
nonfiction:
- Books about special forces.
- Biographies (Linus Torvalds, Steve Jobs etc.).
Fiction:
- Rowling, J.K - Harry Potter.
- Brown, Dan - The whole series about Robert Langdon.
And I have a few books I'm in the middle of reading now, I can't really comment on them before I'm done. These books includes programming and security related topics. But why don't you tell us about your favorite books?

I'll do as Phage did
nonFiction:
- Books on WW2 and Holocaust. I dunno they just interest me.
fiction:
- HP series
- LOTR and Hobbit
- Hatchet

Nonfiction:
biographys of very smart people ie asimov and feynman
books on science. cuz its science bitches
books on puters.
fiction:
would probably just be easier to go by author instead of by book...ive read most/all of by these authors..repeatedly
Issac Asimov(foundation series w007)
Robert Ludlum(good for spy thrillers)
Arthur C Clark(like ludlum more)
Robert A Heinlen(stranger from a strange land or starship troopers probably being my favs)
Shibumi(by Treveniam - spy thriller, possibly best ever written)
Roger Zelazny(seriously this guy mixes sci-fi/fantasy like no other, read his shit! 9 princes in amber, lord of light, creatures of light and darkness all being amazing reads, though all of his other books are good too)
Elizabeth moon-got started on her in middle school with "the deed of paksenarrion" which is a great trilogy, ive since read everything else she does, which is mainly sci-fi, that trilogy being the only "fantasy" set. writes strong female characters, read everything she has written at least 5 times, love her.
Joel Sheppard-only read his cassandra kresnov novels so far, but have re-read them a number of times, really enjoy them.
Neil Stephenson-Cryptonomicon, just a really really amazing book. this guy did TONS of research for this book, and it shows. best "tech" related book out their period(for a fiction book i mean). His other books are damn good too and very well researched
Piers Anthony- a pure fantasy writer, still writes some great stuff that i really enjoy.
i guess thats a start for my favorites...lol

My top 3..
1. The Toothpaste Millionaire
- This book is about a kid and a girl who decide to make toothpaste, and eventually make millions. I can't explain why I love this book, but I do.
2. Ready Player One
- This book is about a future world where earth has nearly declined to ruin, and the population plays in a simulator called OASIS to escape the troubles of real life. The creator of the game dies, and in his will he says everything he owns is to be decided in a contest. The contest takes place in the game, and the contestants have to find a key somewhere in the millions of simulated worlds off one hint that he gave before he died. After a period of 5 years, the main character in the story(forgot name ;p) finally finds the first key(he was first person to find it) and it just gets really crazy from there in the hunt to find the next two keys. Truthfully, this book is amazing, and I feel like you all should read it.
3. Towers of The Sunset
- Can't really explain this one. You'd have to read it.
-
My favourite non Fiction book was How to quit smoking by Allen Car. I just lately started going to the library again, when I was little I really used to enjoy reading then I stopped for a while now I'm back. I really enjoyed the Artemis Fowl series and HP series too. Some books I liked reading too recently were The Postman and Brave New World. I just went to the library to pick up the first book of Hitchikers guide to the universe thanks to this thread.
