: Traking down when using ...
: boriswc December 31, 2013, 02:15:37 PM
I had a question, If I were to use a laptop and using free wi-fi, for example Mac Donals', etc.
Obviously doing illegal hacktivism,  would they be able to track me down easily? and how much time would it take?

-I do not plan to do it, it's just a question lol.

Yes they would!

1. They can see that the activity came from McDonald's.
2. There are cameras on McDondald's so you're busted.

I read about an idiot who was doing blackhat shit from McD. They busted him since he used his credit card to buy food in the restaurant.

You need to use a fresh computer or other OS, so they can't fingerprint your browser. Also you might get traced by flash /cookies. If you forget to spoof your MAC they will also know what computer you used to acces. And I suggest to never use the same hotspot twice. And not use your main computer, if they get onto you they don't have any evidence unless they find the hidden one.

Doubtful that he will read your response considering his last activity date and the fact that the last post on this thread was two months ago.
