I'm sure some of you guys have heard of shodan but check out this search: http://www.shodanhq.com/search?q=SCADA I found one earlier with an open port which in theory would let you log in. Pretty scary!

SHODAN is a very famous and invaluable resource if you're hunting down for machines.
-
Its a grate if you willing to pay for full service, but as free service its not so bright, you better scan by yourself.

:P this was not intended to be a debate over shodan I was more bringing attention to the fact that machines running SCADA (an industrial software) are online and have open ports. These things automate dams etc so it is pretty bad; they are not supposed to be online :P.
-
If you think that's bad, go read the footnotes of Johnny Long's Google Hacking.
You'd be surprised at the shit that is online, kid. With the Internet of Things approaching, every conceivable appliance will be connected from your refrigerator and toaster to your toilet, so you can only expect what will occur.

Which is funny because most SCADA operators believe that their systems are secure because they aren't connected to the internet :P

They automate a hell of a lot more then that.

Yeah, if that were to actually happen, SCADA systems would be the way to do it.
