Nokia officially announced three android phones named 'X', 'X+, 'XL'. These two phone wont support google play store or any google products.

By announcing this they accept android is better than microsoft also open source is greater than shareware IMHO.

What is ur point of view

I wonder then, shall they also make a store for the Apps or what? i mean everyone uploads their apps to Google play store.
It might be a good idea to stop the monopoly of google.

I could not agree more with you.
We need a true open repo instead of google controlled , same goes for appstore.

I would be glad to switch back to nokia because back in the days that was  The phone to have.
That trust still resides somewhere,  nokia is just nokia, too bad they went offshore with that micro bagger.

I liked their Nokia-X2, it was the last i used but if they are taking this to this level. I am ready to switch back to nokia too.
I also love the idea of a new open repo for every one.

I read somewhere that MS wants to fork Android and make their own... I wonder why don't they do like other manufacturers? simply mod the rom for their own devices. The same article said MS would have a hard time forking Android, since Google kinda made sure it's unforkable.

EDIT: here it is: http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/02/neither-microsoft-nokia-nor-anyone-else-should-fork-android-its-unforkable/

I don't have a phone but have been using an ipod touch for years. The apps are failing because no one is making updates for my version anymore so I am getting something new. I'm going with a Kindle Fire. I'm way too excited for something new.

The only way we can truly shame microsoft is to shame ourselves when we use their products.

Pretty much what I was about to say, you can take the Google out of android, but you can't take the Google out of the community at XDA. The sooner the big corporations realize that the better. You can try and lock down android but the android community will have none of it. Love it!

And btw apptoide is a repo based app store for android. Anyone can put up their apps in a repo
