Friend just showed me this. Movies load pretty fast. Only issue I see so far is that you're seeding while watching, which will surely be a concern for some.

Popcorn Time, a cross-platform and BitTorrent-powered movie streaming app, may very well be Hollywood's worst nightmare. The software can be best described as a Netflix for pirates, allowing users to stream the latest blockbusters at no cost.

You can read more about it here:

Nice share I will have to look into it ;-)

On an similar note check out streamza:
https://streamza.com

However with streamza the free method you're pretty limited (1gb, popular files only, 1 slot) however $5/m it becomes an inexpensive streaming public tracker seedbox. You do not do any torrenting from your network, have 5 slots, 30GB/torrent cap. The other awesome feature is you can have a roku channel for streamza and also opt to download the file(s) directly from streamza. The streaming also doesn't really have a buffer issue and works really well.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread, but since they are similar services just thought I'd share, since you don't have to download a torrent client.

Wow, this is really cool. I have always been struggling around on the internet to find free movies. This is great. Thx

not trying to revive an old topic, but for those curious...

Popcorn Time is shutting down today. Not because we ran out of energy, commitment, focus or allies. But because we need to move on with our lives.
Our experiment has put us at the doors of endless debates about piracy and copyright, legal threats and the shady machinery that makes us feel in danger for doing what we love. And that’s not a battle we want a place in.

xoxo,
Pochoclín.

it all runs on open source repos, so hopefully someone out there will rebuild it.

@noncetonic
I find streamza for $5/m way better for simplicity

I hiwever just have a network drive with a computer/laptop hooked up to a projector for my media. Free and easy

Yeah so many things for different ends. I have a seedbox so most of my current downloads can be accessed as long as I have internet, for trips I keep a decent amount of movies/tv shows on my 1tb external for travel

Hasn't been released yet. It will be interesting to see where YIFY takes it

It actually is back and can be found here:

Still needs some work though. Movies you've previously watched sometimes override new movies you're looking at. I'm sure after a couple of weeks YTS will have everything sorted out. The MPAA won't be able to do much at this point.

CouchPotato + Transmission Web Client + Usenet Subscription + SABnzbd == no need for Popcorn Time anyway
Haz nearly identical setup :)
Not to forget headphones and sickbeard.

Well I've found another alternative that I haven't seen anyone mention yet. I'll just leave the link below. Seems good so far and I haven't ran into any problems yet.

I just wish it had TV Shows or at least the ability to add torrents. Integrated TVT or BTN would be boss

hate necroing an old thread, but I switched to xbmctorrent which works extremely well.  Can stream tv shows, movies, music, from a number of torrent sites. It can be found here:

While that's true, the idea with these applications is streaming opposed to waiting for a torrent to finish before watching. It also aggregates a bunch of different repos (EZTV, TPB, YIFI) into one interface. Your machine allocates the required memory for the entire torrent and downloads the torrent to a default directory that gets wiped every time you finish watching. An interesting feature with XBMC is you can get set a directory for the files to be downloaded to that doesn't get wiped. So now you're getting quick access and a permanent file once it has completed downloading. Anyways, this is more of a response to DeepCopy's inquiry I guess.

Yeah it looks like I'm going to be looking more into XBMC Torrent.

But if I'm going to do all that it may just be easier settin my shit up like proxx lol
