I want expert opinions on what the best OS is for hacking purposes, I have windows 7 which I know isn't the greatest. Linux? Which Linux? and if Linux how do I run Windows and Linux at the same time or one at a time? and possible links for downloading since I ran into trouble looking for a place to download linux products

Well, I suggest Kali Linux but Phage hates it, so we shouldn't speak of it. But there is many distros of Linux that are made for hacking like Anonymous-OS or something.


If you want to run Windows and Linux, just download VirtualBox or VMWare and get the .iso and install it there. Then you can have an OS in a window or fullscreen.

Using GRUB, dual boot into either Kali or Backbox. Or google the pros and cons of distros and then make a decision. I'm using Fedora and it's fantastic (though fuck YUM).

BlackArch looks pretty cool; although I would rather just run arch and add the software repo for blackarch. http://blackarch.org

Backbox is another good one. http://backbox.org

If you have a raspberry pi you can use BlackArch as they have support for a couple dozen ARM-based computers.
