I read about this in my newspapers today and thought to share it with you guys.
The new "super black" coating made of carbon nanotubes absorbs all but 0.035% of visual light, setting a new world record. Each nanotube is 10,000 times thinner than a human hair.
It is so dark that the human eye cannot comprehend what it is seeing, as shapes and contours are lost, leaving only a hole.

This is some really weird stuff :D I would like to see that thing in reality. I wonder seriously how would a dress look like with thay material :D every woman's dream as it vanishes the curves, so fat women could look like giant black blobs haha

Reminds me of Doctor Who:
"I'd say zero balance dwarf star alloy. The densest material in the Universe. Nothing gets through that. You're building me the perfect prison."

the next gen stealth material is here. i mean holy shit. Ironically the stuff would have to be painted but talk about a scary material. with the high heat absorption and the fact that nano tubes are tough as nails we probably just got a stealth coating that isnt destroyed by rain, with better absorption/refraction properties than any other coating ever developed. crazy stuff. Oh and we can see stuff further away. Still though "defense" applications on this are just absurd...missile/bomb coatings for ordinance to further reduce refraction and we are probably talking about the first stealth bomber/fighter that isnt visible on radar when its dropping its payload. That is just a cheerful thought.

OMG, it's a black hole?

very interesting material and this is just one of the reasons why I love science. Now gothic girls can wear even darker black.

TBH, I'm not sure wether such a material doesn't reflect other types of radiation, so it is probably seen on a radar. and it's impossibly expensive, so it has to be a very rich goth... might as well be that even the usage as a coating on jets etc. is too expensive for the effect.
Just speculating tho.
