Hi guys,
I have a new raspberry pi b+ (latest model that is) ordered. I also need it for school projects but I am going to tinker with it when I get home. What are some fun things to do with it? I was thinking about maybe craft a connection to a arduino through the GPIO pins with SPI or some of the other pins.
I can also create a arduino deployer based on a git repo which sounds useful.

Actually, as the PI makers said themselves - B+ is not a new model, it's a improved and final release of the B model.

Why didn't you go with the Cubox-i?
It's much more easy to carry, and much less prone to damage.
plus, built in wifi 8)

Because it does not have any GPIO Ports, which makes it basicly useless for projects which control other electricity.

Well, you've got to appreciate how much can be fit onto that little thing :P
Cubox was targetted for the more user-friendly interface users I guess :P

I ask myself how that suits to the Cubox I. But however, doesn't look bad, still got nothing to do with a raspberry.

Yeah, Raspberry is basically an open motherboard. Just small and with slightly less capabilities. And as I said before, Cubox is more user friendly, but then, much more limited.

And fun things to do with it? Plenty.
I'd personally mount the whole thing into a military type plastic case, along with a display and folded inside, a rubber keyboard. Also, in the box I'd keep a few folding plastic plates that I can slide out and keep the keyboard on. Thus, making myself a computer in a box. How to power it? Keep a small battery that's equal to the power required for the Raspberry. Drill a hole in the side or back of the box run the power cable to it. And be sure to put some foam padding around the display to prevent it from cracking.
Mount the PI close to the walls of the box and drill holes for the connectors or hell, keep it in the middle and get extenders.
Spray paint the box, camo-style and it should look completely bad-ass.

Yhea that looks cool! And i had to buy a pi for school so I could not choose for another board. I will keep you guys updated tomorrow I will catch the train home (from Prague) and then do some fiddling :D

I did hear that you could connect an rpi to arduino through usb. Not sure if it'll work similarly with the cubox. Ah well, two boards do look better than a board and cube. :P
