The gameplay of God of War: Chains of Olympus resembles the previous installments. It is a third-person single-player video game viewed from a fixed camera perspective. The player controls the character Kratos in combo-based combat, platforming, and puzzle game elements, and battles foes who primarily stem from Greek mythology, including cyclopes, Gorgons, satyrs, harpies, minotaurs, hoplites, and sphinxes. Morpheus beasts, shades, banshees, fire guards, fire sentries, hyperion guards, and death knights were created specifically for the game.

My input:
I played it while I was on vacation. Wasn't a very short game, had nice graphics and sounds. Combo system was still awesome as it was with earlier games. But the devs decided to change how the player will progress through the game. Instead of having a steady flow of enemies as you go through the level, you walk without any combat and come into some zone/arena where a shitload of enemies start to appear and all exists are blocked. Such combat scenes could be considered as boss battles, because at times it would seriously appear that way. There were too many of those combat scenes, it made the game seem a bit frustrating.
It had enough checkpoints, but game saving were too far from one another and sometimes I wouldn't reach it in one go, my PSP would be discharging and I couldn't save the game...
Overall, I liked the game, it was immersive. If it wasn't for too many combat scenes, it would of been a really great game.

God of War in general are great games. Even the story line is even good. Hell, Kratos is bad ass in Mortal Kombat even. I haven't played the particular game in this min-review, but I have played the first and second one with great joy.
