Hello there Evilzone members. I was wondering does any of you make your own food? I recently started learning more about it and made myself mushrooms. it was good, but I tend to practice more. So, do you guys make food and if you do, what do you prepare? You can also post image of food you have made. I will do so later when I reach PC. What would you also suggest me to make as novice in field of cooking. It can be with meat, but please tell me if you know any vegetarian food.

I make pizza crackers. I lay crackers onto a plate, cover it with whatever topping I like and put it into the microwave for a minute. It tastes awesome. And, that's what I know how to make :P

That's not some skill xD .
Ok, these are mushrooms I made by myself. It took me 45 minutes to finish all:

Oh yes. I never prepared that food, but my father did. It's tasty, quite tasty to be honest. I might learn to prepare that, one day of course. For now, I will go with potato. xD

I cook every weekend and I bake cakes often (my favourite is Russian chocolate cheesecake: link (http://imalbum.aufeminin.com/album/D20110118/739439_KBUIHXXEKRH131HXV87V18YIQK1IFW_zupfkuchen_H125536_L.jpg)). I have no pictures, though, I never photograph (but I could do the next time I cook something).
A good vegan meal I like to create is ratatouille. Vegetarian and simple meals I do often:
I like to have both: Meals with and without meat. I don't feel like eating meat all the time.

It's funny how food is named sometimes ^^. No one knows the recipe for the so-called "russian" cake in Russia. Anyway, it just tastes great. Maybe a bit too much fat in the recipe I know. Anyway: food is awesome, just not the food I make (it's basically meat, potatoes and vegetables thrown together). Something truly awesome are steaks... those are the love of my life. and again, they are quite expensive, so I can't afford to eat them on a regular basis. My parents cook different stuff anyway, mostly a mix of russian, italian (pasta) and family recipes.

EDIT: Where are my sentence-building skills?

First of all. Thank you for video. I will try my best to make such food. Also, today I tried to make dough (hope that's the word) for pizza. I have 0 exp related to making such food but I followed some online guide and this is what I got:

I don't know if it's good, waiting my parents to confirm if it's worth using for food. xD

hm... looks like it's possible to eat that ^^. did you use barm to make it? (that's how I make pizza most of the time, tastes quite good). At least if you do, it is possible to make something like bread with contents, or "пироги" as you'd call it in russian. My favourites are the ones with bacon & cabbage or eggs & leek.

On a sidenote: "пироги" is the plural.

Yes sir, I did used barm. I think it's essencial for making this xD . And i don't know what " пироги " is. I can read it, since it's cyrilic. xD

here you go with an explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirog)
About the need of barm... as you can see from my firt reply, I'm definitely not a cook.

As far as cooking shows go ive always loved Good Eats, he describes the scientific processes going on within the food itself, which gives i feel a much easier to follow guide to what to look for when trying to cook something new. As for cooking itself here in a few hours ill be making tacos, which is rather simple, but tasty.

Since I started getting really interested/active with my body building, I started cooking my own food. And it has definitely benefit me. I have a 'special' meal I made up one way with some rice, chicken, curry, red peber etc. shit's good.

I have been cooking since I was fairly little so I'm pretty good. I mainly cook Italian food because my family is Italian so that's what I know how to cook. I love making pasta by hand and marinara sauce is probably my favorite sauce to make.

Actually I do make arroz y pollo from time to time for dinner. When I was on vacation in Costa Rica a local let me make it with him.

I enjoy cooking meth from time to time. Hmu.

Speaking of meth, I've been completely addicted to Breaking Bad... It's funny how, in first world + english speaking countries, that show's name has become synonymous with the drug. Cultural diffusion at its finest.

I moved out at 16, so I've had four years of cooking experience.. but my favorite is still the basics... stuffed crust pepperoni pizza.

Well either that or cubed potatoes, ham, and green beans in a pan (like a cake pan), put a fair bit of butter in, cover it and bake it till the taters are done.

Comes out delicious, I usually take the foil off a bit early and put some shredded cheese on it.

@Phage: Yes, making your own food is awesome. And when it comes to body building you totally should make your own food. That's the only way you can calculate for sure how many proteins you took.
@Shadowwolf: Could you advice me some recipe for pasta? Since you have exp with that, it would be nice to tell me something :D
: Re: Cooking thread
: shadowwolf September 16, 2014, 02:10:29 PM
Pretty much all types of pasta are made with the same basic eggs, flour, and a pinch of salt recipe. Pasta machines are great, especially if you can get an electric one, since they do the work of kneading and flattening the dough for you, and have attachments that allow you to shape the dough into different shapes. If you're only planning on making ravioli or fettuccine then you can make it by hand.

Edit:
I'm now a peasant and I'm talking about pasta....

I like cooking stuffs as well. (One secret of mine would be that I still watch cooking shows on YouTube).

I can make good Vegetable Chinese Noodles, Different types of Sandwiches and Veg Pizza, Chinese or Thai Vegetable curry and some Indian food.

I like vegetables, hey are good for your brain :D
: Re: Cooking thread
: Daemon September 16, 2014, 07:14:05 PM
Oh man, m0rph gonna hate me for this...

Breakfast: I love making omeletes, breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches (either over-easy or scrambled style. though i prefer over-easy cause the yolk tastes awesome combined with the toast) and anything egg related. Though I also do pancakes and such on occasion.

Lunches: I like to keep it simple, sandwiches, quesadillas, mac + cheese, leftovers

Dinner: Yakisoba, Soba, Gyudon, Omusoba, Omurice, Cha-han (chinese fried rice), spaghetti, bratwurst (cooked in beer, the darker the beer the better) are all things I'll make

For snacks I enjoy making nachos (grate your own cheese, pre-grated is too salty), quesadillas, grilled cheese sandwhiches, crackers + cheese + fruit. I admit it, im addicted to cheese haha

I'll try to remember to get some pictures off my phone over the course of this week and show you guys what all goes on foodwise in my house ^_^

BBQ cups is something I cook that a lot of people haven't tried and love when they taste them.

Store List:
1lb ground beef
1 bottle of your favourite bbq sauce
1 roll of biscuits, the ones in the can. Make sure they are the buttered kind, they taste better, ALSO NOT the flaky layered shit, regular canned biscuits.
1 bag of cheese of your choosing, I use Colby Jack.

Steps:
Fry up the beef, drain once done. Add BBQ sauce, more the better so it isn't dry. Use judgment on this  cause I don't know the scales you all use. Just make sure the beef is coated, heavily coated.

In a cupcake pan, spray with non-stick spray pending on the biscuits you use. Form a cup from the biscuits and place into pan.

Add a spoon full of the beef bbq you made. Add the beef bbq till it's gone adding and subtracting where needed.

Top bbq beef you put in cups with the shredded cheese, and cook in oven till either the time on the biscuit can, or till you think it's done. Time's will vary, just keep an eye on it.

Let cool and enjoy. Goes great with mac-n-cheese, potatoes, cucumber salad, [insert summer foods here].

Good for kids as well, personal bbq cupcakes no mess moms!
