Hi guys, I don't know where to post this particular topic so I'll just start it here. I've been researching for the best available smartphone/s out there-android in particular, with budget in mind. Do you have any suggestions? or should I wait for the upcoming smartphones, like OnePlus Two?

I would suggest the Galaxy S6 Edge

There was a very recent thread similar to this topic.
https://evilzone.org/hardware/recommendations-for-android-phones/msg119556/#msg119556
He was debating between iOS and Android but was leaning towards Android and was asking for EZ's members opinions.
just an FYI

If you got the cash, give blackphone 2 a try. It's pretty awesome. Only things so far on the negative side imho, are durability in falls and a bit lag (particularly with many spaces).
Anyways, I just feel good denying (for example) facebook to have my location, access to photos/contacts etc.
a bit of applications could bug out when you deny them too many things (for example, google maps didnt work properly because i had denied location access to google play services)

I suggest the Nexus 6 or 5. So you can root it and install nethunter, which is basically kali linux on your phone. :)

Then again you could do that on a raspberry pi.

Yeah, I think I don't totally understand the point of that whole NetHunter project. Why would anyone want to have Kali Linux on their phone? If anyone could point some benefits of it, I'd be happy to hear.

It's basically Kali Linux on your phone, except you don't get any benefits of using Kali (or Linux, for that matter). Your phone is still a phone so typing is slow. NetHunter solves this problem by giving you a shitty terminal emulator which doesn't do anything useful, so you have no reason to type. You get almost none of the tools that ship with Kali and you also can't easily install any of the tools you would want, so you are forced to use the few tools that are on there. If I really had to use my phone for any security work, I would rather install any of the Linux phone distros and get my tools there than use NetHunter ever again. But then again, NetHunter has the cool dragon background, so that's something.

Maybe you just need a better phone to install it on . It runs well on my phones no slow typing at all :O
Also if you don't like nethunter you can install other images like the Pwnie Express.

check out this website:
http://www.gsmarena.com/
it contains specs, ratings, reviews and price range of smartphones.
Personally I would recommend a sony phone. Sleek and classy design. Feels good in the hands. Waterproof etc...
