: How do I get Key A and B using mfocGUI
: losttrust June 01, 2015, 07:59:08 AM

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could tell me where/how I can get the two keys after I read a mifare card using mfocgui. I've noticed that there are two dump files stored in the Keys folder and I've tried opening it with notepad++ with the hex editor plugin. However, there are a few lines of keys?(I'm not sure what they are) which are not in 12 characters(keys should have 12 characters only if I'm not wrong).
There was another topic(link below) which asked the same thing but the answer wasn't posted, hence the new post. I'm new to this mifare cracking thing so any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!https://evilzone.org/hacking-and-security/problem-with-mfoc-gui/

Try using the Mifare classic tool on the card, and post the output you get.

Thanks in advance.

Mifare classic tool can read all the sectors in the card except sector 0 and sector 1, which can be unlocked by getting keys A and B. That is why I am using mfocGUI to get the two keys first before trying to read the card. But I'm not sure how to do it though. :(

The default key for sector's A and B are FF FF FF FF FF FF are they not? If this is the case and you haven't changed the key yet, you should be able to do what you want to do.

If you are still struggling I would suggest you get more research going.
