recently, i found a job advertise by a high-frequency trading firm hiring c++ programmers
i just wanna how deeply i have to understand c++ to work in that field?
how do they apply programming to trading?
does anyone has any experience working in that field?
PS: im just taken one c++ course in college which taught c++ up to classes and objects, you may consider me as a programming newbie

So you say you have no experience with c++ or coding in general and you need us to tell you that ?

Hold on so you want a job as a C++ developer, but you do not know much about C++, really. If that is the question then no, that's not a job for you.
-
You should be able to make decent programs,
if you know only what classes and objects are, I doubt that job's for you.
You need to be fluent and know what you are doing, have a deeper understanding of the language.
If you wanna work as a developer/programmer, learn to code first.

The Truth has been spoken.

In the trading world they need fast reliable programs to analyze vast amounts of market data and preform risk assessment and profit gain. You'll be working closely with traders to develop the software

Yes, try practice making a few small programs first, find a few small clients and as you build confidence, then tackle the larger bigger corporate jobs.
