"The secret Telnet Vulnerability (CVE-2015-2874 (https://www.tangiblesecurity.com/index.php/announcements/tangible-security-researchers-notified-and-assisted-seagate-with-fixing-critical-device-vulnerabilities)) with an inbuilt user account (default username and password — "root") allows an attacker to access the device remotely, left users data vulnerable to theft".
Thought it was interesting...

Well obviously... this couldn't have been otherwise. With bullshit technology like this it's bound to happen... a wireless hard drive? fo' real?

I don't understand, why people do not set up there own personal cloud server. Instead of buying expensive bullshit storage, i.e. icloud, or buying an external hard drive.

Because users don't understand what a cloud is, and you want them to set up their own? you clearly haven't worked with people.

With that thinking, entire thread is useless. Everyone who use insecure devices will not change their ways, and the people who care about security, already know to not use this type of device. Just saying.

I'm sure it took a lot of dedication to find that particular glitch, there is no safe system. Wouldn't really bash seagate, they have nice hdds.
