I am 90% confident that these books are already being hosted in the eBook section.
Thank you for your efforts/sharing though.
-
Thanks, Yes they probably are but just needed to post them in the noob section because its a big help when you're new to Kali.
-
Thank you for pdf bro.
-
Thanks for the books.
But what I don't understand is why people think so highly of Kali? It's just a debian distro and the tools that you want you can just clone them off github anyway.
The way I see it there's nothing special about Kali Linux, perhaps for the beginners out there Kali is easier to work with.
From my experience of debian (long time ago), although I must say lot of stuff is stable but I always felt like my choices were kind of limited (usually debian distros are not so customisable like Arch/ Gentoo, etc.) and also I couldn't get my hands on the latest bleeding edge software. You have to wait for months to get the latest updates.
Bleeding edge software does matter, let's say a new kernel came out and you wanna try it...it's kind of a nightmare trying to figure out how to make it work without breaking compatibility with other stuff in debian.
TLDR; Not saying Kali is bad but don't think that installing Kali will suddenly make you a super 1337 hacker or that it's the only thing out there. In my opinion the author of ebooks these days use the catchy phrase "Kali Linux" on pretty much everything as a marketing strategy to get people into buying their books. It's certainly working for them so far.

I hardly ever use Kali for any of my pentesting. Every once in a while but it's rare.

Yeah it is true that people think to highly of Kali. I use it because it comes with most of the tools installed and its easy to do clean wipes.

As far as customization for Kali, who cares, its not meant to be a daily driver. You throw it on a USB to do penetrating. It's not meant to be customized and there are bleeding edge repos you can add. It's not meant to be a main OS, only used for penetrating so half of your arguments against it are invalid.
Now you can make your own Kali type OS, but why re-invent the wheel?

Ofcourse it doesn't make sense to use Kali as a general OS, but a lot of people do and I was referring to them and making a point.
there are bleeding edge repos you can add
According to Kali Docs:
While Kali Linux is architected to be highly customizable, don’t expect to be able to add random unrelated packages and repositories that are “out of band” of the regular Kali software sources and have it Just Work. In particular, there is absolutely no support whatsoever for the apt-add-repository command, LaunchPad, or PPAs. Trying to install Steam on your Kali Linux desktop is an experiment that will not end well. Even getting a package as mainstream as NodeJS onto a Kali Linux installation can take a little extra effort and tinkering.
I've been there done that, actually I think you didn't get my point perhaps you didn't even read my post otherwise you wouldn't say my point is invalid.
Anyway I'm not here to argue, if it works for you that's good.
