So i'm new to the computer world, and was wondering if you guys could offer any sort of advice about the subjects that I should learn in the next year, starting with python and moving forward from there? Thanks in advance

What are your goals?
Set goals for yourself i.e "I want to become a programmer..." or "I want to learn more about cyber security" with that in mind you can divide the large topics into smaller category's to determine what you are interested in and learn from there.
In my opinion, learn everything you find interesting. You should learn more to better yourself. And in essence create potential opportunity's for career growth.

You don't want to make a fool out of yourself by asking simple questions that could be easily answered by a simple google search.

Apply what you learn as much as you can. I think a lot of people get a book and just read it cover to cover without actually applying what they're learning. There is a reason you spend time in a lab when taking chemistry pratical application is key. The only other thing I can suggest is don't be afraid to attempt something you don't fully understand. If you fail you may learn something from the failure. I've learned more about linux by diving into Arch and breaking it than I ever did running Mint.

When you finally choose something to learn about, make a plan; for example how long will you study a day. My biggest problem was always making sure I study everyday even if it was for 1 hour. Make it a habit and you should catch on with your subject. Maybe find out what type of leaner you are and focus of ways of learning in that direction.
EDIT: There is a study somewhere about if you do something for 66 days that makes it a habit and by then you should be profound in that area. Can't find the study thought.

When I started in InfoSec, I started with the CompTIA Network+ and Security + curriculum. It was a good starting point for learning the lingo and the basics of the technology.

Best thing would be if you focus on that what you want to learn first this helps you to step into the other things you will learn later. I wanted to learn how to hack adobe flash games. I started with this theme. And then later the other things. But I don't suggest you to learn action script(-->the programming language of adobe flash)because adobe flash is somehow dead already. Even Steve Jobs hated adobe flash. But if you want then (you will need fiddler, charles proxy and a swf decompiler software)
