Tails is a portable IOS. Its main function is to be anonymous on the web. I recommend it if you want something you can use on the go and need to be "secretive", other then that I would not use it. Edward Snowden used it when he was releasing information.

I have tails on a flashdrive, the OS is fine, not for everyday use but will come in handy when you need to get anonymois real quick, they havw good documentation and it's very easy to use. But the fact that Theguardian  journalists used it for storing snowden files probably destroyed the os security on the state level

Tails was made to do one thing and it does it ok, but dont expect anything else from it. If you are interested in distros for anonymity, also check out https://www.whonix.org/ (https://www.whonix.org/)

Totally  agree. Whonix is probably the better option in my opinion. But that's just me.

Depending on the level of anonymity you are seeking. Casual usage of TAILS is fine hell I'd even go as far to say you're probably fine dicking around places you shouldn't with it away from home. I do agree with the rest tho if you're serious about it and really can't afford a lapse in opsec look towards whonix.

I've never had the chance to use whonix(checking it out now), but I thought the Emulate Windows option in tails to be a really interesting feature. Definitly good to have a live usb if thats your thing :).

Yep. I don't think Tails will do the job for everyday use. I would use it just for some task that needs anonymity. Whonix is also a great option.

Just burn TAILS onto a flash drive and boot into it when anonymity is needed. Installing it as your main operating system is besides it's point.
