I've been learning for some time through kali and recently found about Parrot security (https://www.parrotsec.org). I'm gonna try it sooner or later, but I'd be grateful for some opinions from you guys.

As always, bit skeptical over any sort of 'hacking distro', but there does seem to be some neat things worth checking out. Bit worrisome is the whole custom kernel aspect, cause that can be a good thing or a terrible thing and they have a bunch of custom tools and stuff on there. Thats neat and all, but that means taking more time to check through and make sure nothings suspicious.
I do approve however of some of their design philosophies. They want to emphasis on personal security with with option of everyday use, and has tools like 'Pandoras Box' to help prevent cold boot attacks, and AnonSurf to force all traffic through Tor. Thats oddly way more aggressive then most distros, in the sense that most other ones wouldnt bother because 'Its meant for professionals! if you are a professional why are you so worried about anonymity leaks that your clients aren't going to notice?' Havnt heard of either of those tools before either, so I imagine they are either some of the custom tools or just a case of there are way too many tools out there to stay in the loop with all of them.
I've been saying for years that professionals need to change they way to operate to mimic the tactics that real attackers use, and it SEEMS to be a sentiment they share.
All in all I'm interested in trying it out, but its gunna be a bit time consuming before I would trust it or would consider using it for any real project.

I think many of the tools I'm using are meant for professionals (as far as I know) and if I want to use them as one then I'm gonna use them in at least ten years from now. ;D
My reason is just my curiosity mate.

Too bulky. Parrot has a lot going on. If you want to use a hacking distribution and you've already been on Kali, might as well stick to it. Distro itself isnt going to make or break you. Just don't get overwhelmed by your options. But even Kali is "bulky" (Things you doing need, won't use, etc). I use Kali, but I've seen a high majority of members here prefer to build off a naked form of linux

Parrot is another one I have yet to delve into. I'd like to try BlackArch as well, but I'd also like to use my own version that I'd built. Anyone ever try building their own version of linux from the ground up?

In my opinion Parrot is the best "Hacker Distro" with Debian. Parrot has got a few more tools than kali, and it is much more comfortible. It runs with the newest Debian, which is in my Opinion the best Linux, better than ubuntu.
In comparison with windows, windows is way much better than parrot. ::) But at all, if I had to choose a linux os, I would take parrot os.

I could summarize in one word how much shit this post holds, but instead I'll make a bullet list.
- There is no such thing as a "best Hacker Distro", because a) this is a subjective term and b) so-called hacker distros tend to be pretty useless in most cases, or at least do more harm than good.
- You obviously have next to no idea what you are talking of if you say that "Debian is the best linux because it is better than Ubuntu". One can have opinions on both, but pointing them out like that is just plain... adorable.
- The windows comparison, as pointed out by blindfuzzy, made me laugh. Also, please define "better", which, again is a purely subjective term. Or better yet, don't and do something decent instead.
- If you would choose a "hacking distro" as a main distribution for everyday usage... I wish you luck respecting yourself.

Honestly man eventually you will get to the point that you wont give a fuck about those distros because pretty much any distro with the right dependencies and tools installed will work fucking fine I use debian and get my tools from github, soldierx, packet storm and some friends from boards.
