: Odd set of skills.
: Wolf January 03, 2012, 06:54:01 PM
I have to admit that I am still learning "Insert your definition of hacking here", but I really would like to share what I do know/Am talented at, or at least feel like im giving something in return for all I'm learning here.
Would anyone care to see a tutorial in lock picking or the like? I know it is not hacking, but I think it has a similar mindset involved and could be an interesting puzzle for those who care to try.

This should be posted in the General Vices/bad ideas section.
I'll answer you btw, if you want a good lockpicking guide that goes above and beyond, look up something called the "burglars guide", "burglars collection" or something like that it's a whole folder of files pertaining to home invasion, picklocking etc etc.
Educational  purposes only of course :P

Lock picking is very much hacking after my definition. And yes, sure. A lock picking tutorial would be cool. All tho, I already know much of it. Nonetheless, I am happy for any evilzone created tutorial :)

It really is hacking. I''ll see if I can come up with something worth looking at.

Post it ? plus I don't see this as an odd set of skills. I think it's great that you know something most of us don't know .

Love the idea! There are no weird skills, everything is useful at one point. This is why I recommend to everybody to read many books. If it looks interesting then read it, and maybe buy it(???IDK I usually find good books on demonoid.)

If I can find it, I had it downloaded but I deleted it. I'll look through my old torrents and see if I can find it.

Anyone try lip reading? I've been researching it for a while, and although it is pretty difficult I'm noticing an improvement. I've always thought that'd be a cool skill to have.

I tried sign language once, and the class covered lip reading a bit. Found it rather difficult, but if you get good at it I could imagine a lot of possibilities.

How about post tutorials on anything. A lot to me is hacking; music, art, dance, wood work, etc....

Anything that involves a creative mind and a passion to create something new or different.

Hell, a tutorial on paper mache or designing a board game, I would read it.

Lip reading? Just spend few hours and keep an eye on people when they are talking, whispering, shouting... If you're good at watching something, you will get it very fast. Or watch movies you know without the audio stream? :D I managed lip reading like that... By now I'm able to read lips in English and more languages (atm trying to do it with people talking french... not so easy :/ ).

I think learning the intricacies of just about anything can be considered hacking. Lockpicking in my eyes is most definitely hacking in its true definition. Hacking to me is very much a mindset not just exploiting something on a computer.
