I am a metalhead to the bone, and I totally agree with the comparison between classical and metal, but people often give me weird looks when I say that metal is my favorite music, then they ask me what else I listen to and I answer with classical... Have you guys ever seen those documentaries by Sam Dunn on metal music? They are awesome, one is called Metal: A Headbanger's Journey and the other is called Global Metal.

I am a Metal Fan and Musician. This isn't new for me, but still a great share!

Not that you need me telling you this but those people know nothing about music theory. Anyone who plays guitar will tell you that metal(death metal especially) is directly influenced by neo classical music. Try playing something metal on guitar that isn't directly linked to classical guitar scales. Just ask Mark Morton

Very true. I play electric guitar, and noticed the same thing.
