Hey guyz, i'm a windows user and 4rm wat i've heard; Windows sucks. So i bought 2 books 4rm a cheap book store on Linux. The problem is the books were publishd in 1997 & 2002. Can i still read them {or should I throw them away}?

AFAIK Linux core hasn't changed much since 2000's, so the books should be fine.

Ok tanx, just how long will it take me to learn c++ and linux?
-
depends how much effort and willpower are you willing to put.

i read it for 'bout 2 hours a day during the weekend(i startd this weekend) and am already in Control Statements. Hw's dat?

I know this will sound cheesy but to me you will never completely learn something.
However with plenty of hard work, you could get comfortable around a few months. Reading helps, but you need to be hands on. If you aren't doing something regularly, it is easy to forget.

If you realy wana learn linux go with Linux internals:

Your replies are brilliant, as I would have said it myself. I think you will fit in here very fast. Tho, no pressure.
Cheers.

I think so too. Just looking for a place to sit and enjoy myself, and talk to people who share the same interests. As for my replies, I try to do my best. Give the advice that I, myself follow.
Cheers as well.
