If you wanted to save changes you have to create the usb with persistence. I have 4gb persistence on mine but you can do whatever. Then when you boot it select the option for persistent mode and that should do it. As for learning terminal commands, Backtrack is ubuntu based so the commands AFAIK are generally the same. You should check out the ebooks section. More specifically this (http://evilzone.org/ebooks/backtrack-5-wireless-penetration-testing-beginner%27s-guide-3450/) post.

What he^^ said, it's a linux system so read up. A fast way to learn would be this:

Overuse of smileys is retarded. Can't you just friggin' google what is persistence?

Don't say you're a noob all the time when you do something stupid, it's not an excuse for stupidity!

Its not so much the fact that your bugging the members its that your not taking the time to simply search your question on google... Like such:

FIRST PAGE ON THE BACKTRACK WEBSITE:
http://www.backtrack-linux.org/wiki/index.php/Persistent_USB

Wow was that so hard to google and get your answer.
