: Security Package
: Axon May 14, 2012, 07:42:53 PM
Is there a distribution with a security/pen-testing package that is not independent of the distribution. For example, Nodezero is based on Ubuntu but it's and independent OS, what am looking for is something you can download directly and add it to your OS.

You mean cross-platform security package. I don't know of any and I doubt there are any, because there are very few cross-platform programming languages and seemingly no one makes tools with them :P

I don't know if it already exists, but it may be a good project.

I think the only way I would want to do this, is by adding repo's from other distro's to mine (granted they have the same base distro, and use the same package manager), and then doing bulk updates/upgrades via the package manager.. The only trouble I would see with this is installing the pgp keys for those other repositories. idk if this was the general direction you were wanting to go, but I at least hope I gave you some ideas.
