Congratulations :).. Now you can finally kill mice with bare hands ???
many companies value people who have done stuff apart from academics or work. So yes, you can add this but in the interview or exams like gmat gre they might ask questions and you would have to answer them correctly. Any sport or other activity can be mentioned but they usually have lists of questions that they may ask.
My teacher advised me to put stuff other than academics or work exp. in the resume.

Gratz :D I only came to red belt in Aikido, after that I quit :P
What martial arts do you practice?
-
I wrestled for a year in highschool. Also took Taekwondo for a summer. I never got any belts because I wasn't there long enough.
Anyway, congratulations.
-
Congrats tough guy :D
-
I started TaeKwon Do at an early age and got my black belt when I was twelve. It was a horrible teacher and she made it way too easy to get so I don't really consider myself a martial arts master at all. In other news I'd really like to take classes in Krav Maga or Kung Fu

How long does it take you to get the first belt in Teakwondo? and how long does it take to get the black belt?
-
You're a Wolf with two fucking black belts. BADASS!!!
Congratulations good sir.

If you are asking me it took me three years. Of course with a better program it might take longer. I think around three or four years is a good average for your first black belt.

I think you get the white belt when you join. So, 0 years as long as you have the money.

^What this guy said. If you want to kick some serious ass though I'm sure any martial artist would tell you it takes a lifetime......or at least 5 to 10 years ;)
-
Researchers say 2 years of hardcore studying can make anyone an expert in anything. But to be a master it will take a long time. But once you have enough experance you can go all Miyagi on some ass.

Oh my! Thank you all ;D
It took me 10 years to get this second one, Which is in full TKD (as opposed to American TKD) My first one is in American karate which took about 5 years. Foriegn martial arts is an ass kicking compared to what they teach here. I also do MMA and am a blue belt in BJJ.

has everyone here learned some martial art or other? suddenly i feel bad for myself :(.. There aren't good teachers here. I tried to learn but they do not value martial arts here, I had to do with other sport :(

Yeah, this will be a real noob question:- How is something "full" tkd and "half tkd" I mean punches are punches right? and please don't laugh at noob question.. I know there will be some techniques but I am unable to imagine anything..

And Karate was founded in our country. I feel you bro. :(

Karate was founded in India? well that is surprising.... will have to google this one..
I do know that there were martial arts here, with a big military culture.. what with numerous small independent states and all... sadly its all lost..
There are people recorded who could kill a lion with bare hands... but, in my city of over a million people there not one good place to learn martial arts.
-
Took 4 years to get a 3rd Degree Black Belt in taekwondo. (We trained 9 hours a week / 3 hour sessions). Was fortunate not to have a "store-front teacher" but a sensei from the Kukkiwon DoJo in Seoul, Korea; where this Martial Art is their National Sport.
-
Its not a N00b question, so dont feel bad. There is no half tkd, but when I say full tkd I mean it's origonal, korean based. Most schools here teach American tkd which is not any less a martial art, but has slightly different teniques, different values and is a little easier to achieve ranks.

There is one BJJ move called the lion killer :) it's a choke hold
