I thought I would share with you that I have on behalf of Evilzone donated a small amount of money to the Reboot movie coming out soon (~October).

Why the hell do people always quote that film.... it has nothing to do with "hacking", apart from her using fancy computer words like "FULL DRIVE ENCRYPTION!!" and doing command line SQL in one scene... is it because she drives a bike?

Have you read the books? In the sequels to that first book she does a lot more hacking and so people just attribute that to the first movie as well. Kind of like how they call the entire series "the girl with the dragon tattoo" even though that's only the name of the first book. Can't remember exactly how much hacking happened in the first book, but I want to say it's about the same as the movie...

those guys always give the wrong impression of hackin'. hope in this reconaisance ,enumeration and penetration doesn't happen in 2 minutes like in all those other moves.bigup to hackers(movies).atleast it gave a vague description.

Alright,
Just saw the film. It was kinda cool, more accurate than expected except a few things. Tho it was kinda short and ended a bit booring. Only lasts ~40 mins.
We did not show up in the end credits which also kinda sucked but ohwell. Perhaps we will on the offical release, who knows.

mac is based on unix, and linux is based on unix too, I haven't watched the movie yet so I can tell, but there are similarities between mac and linux..

Yes, there are a few flops there. Batch commands on a mac/unix/nix machine etc, but for the general population, nobody gives a fuck. As for us, yes it does suck a bit :P But they actually do got some of their facts straight ;)

Watched it just now, its not even a full 40mins, its like 33..someone mentioned it's more like a summary, well, to me it's more like a summary of a prequel to the real story. If they wanted to make a real movie and go big with it, then it'd be between 90-120 minutes long, and the city's power would have went out within the first 10 minutes. Not to mention that this was barely hacker related..someone mentioned that they were running CMD on a mac, but to me it looked like they were coding in C++ using the command terminal on a mac, and adding a fake "goto", isn't that VBS? Maybe I'm wrong, I'm as n00b as it gets when it comes to coding, but I'm critiquing a movie right now so idgaf. It wasn't even a movie, the plot didn't make any sense whatsoever because there wasn't enough information given, the effects were terrible and out of place (i.e. Jesse was bleeding from the mouth after getting hit in the head, you only bleed from the mouth if you rupture a lung or the stomach, and who dies from a minor head injury like that anyways?), the story contradicted itself numerous times (she forgot how to code but could still code, she didn't know who her friends were but knew the guy was on Jesse's side, etc.), and my list goes on and on and on.

Yeah I was severely disappointed. His big thing besides crashing civilization is having that chick's facebook post bad things about people. How lame. I don't see why they couldn't make the movie longer. I guess not enough money :P
That code was total nonsense too. Also, why is it that the guy whos agenda it is to bring down civilization also has to be a rapist. That pisses me off. I wouldn't even consider him a bad person if he didn't have to be a rapist and women beater.

Well either way, both will make him cry and regret life... LOL xD Nah Clannad is honestly awesome :) And this movie... is not.
If you have to watch it out of curiousity, just do it :P It's only 40 mins and you'll probably stop before you hit the 20 minute mark, or you'll just keep watching it because it's so bad.
