: Is anyone into cycling?
: namespace7 September 13, 2012, 12:44:28 PM
I love cycling (especially road) and was just wondering if anyone else is into it too.
If yes do you do it solo or with a group? What discipline do you ride in? Cross-country? Downhill MTB? BMX? Road/Racing? Commuting?

Personally I love road cycling, mainly because of the speed. It is also fun to compete against friends and myself.

So, anyone?

I have heavy MTB, so it's pain riding on the road, but fun scaring people flying past them in a park :)  Always get adrenaline dose when both wheels are sliding on the curve when going over 30 km/h on light gravel/dirt without protective gear :D
Btw, good full suspension bicycle costs about 5000 LT, in our country normal monthly salary is 2000 LT. So you get an idea how much bicycles gets stolen...

Anyway, it's a good sport (makes your ass nice), increases stamina, you meet people, see various interesting things. On my evening rides i make about 40-50 Km which squeezes last power from me :)

I mountain bike occasionally cross country, I used to ride maybe 3-4 times a week, and I rode BMX for years and years (dirt jumps, street, park). I mostly dropped it to do trail running instead, but I still ride sometimes.

Not me. Not my thing. :)
Wearing Lycra is bad enough.

I used to BMX back in the day when XGames where getting big. They put a dirt park in my home-town. Also, biking was the only way I got around when I was a kid. Unrelated, I watched the live show of when Tony Hawk did the first 900 on a vert.

Then I got fat and stayed behind a computer. So the only biking I do now is the crappy flash games lol.

I wanted to try BMX'ing but I am a bit scared of looking like a fool and being embarassed in front of all the 15 year old kids who can do shit like 360 in the air in the BMX park. I have two nice BMX parks about 2 mins from my home :)
I don't have a bmx bike though.
You never know I might give it a try.
it is never too late.

You are right.
The only thing that limits us is our own idea of who we are.
