Hi everyone,

Yesterday someone told me that he had NFC on his phone what was capable of scanning and writing RFID tags. And i was like OMG i got that too, so i went to the playstore and downloaded a bunch of apps and started to test all day long :D.

I could scan every rfid card i had, i could even get the image out of my ID card. Also there are ways to make your phone emulate a rfid card. I am still working on that, might be blocked in the 4.0 kernel but maybe i need to enable it myself.

Anyway, for the people with a NFC enabled phone here are some cool apps :)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nxp.nfc.tagwriter (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nxp.nfc.tagwriter) :: A tag writer

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nxp.taginfolite (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nxp.taginfolite) :: A detailed and good tag reader, can also detect some types of public transport cards

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pocketluxus.nfclassic (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pocketluxus.nfclassic) :: A tag reader who says its capable of tag simulation

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.mroland.android.apps.nfctaginfo (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.mroland.android.apps.nfctaginfo) :: A good detailed tag reader who can even read the data on a ePassport and more known application cards.

Have phun :D

Yes, it's the holy grail. I think i am going to develop a public application for editing mifare 1k cards. To bad that card emulation is blocked in the stock 4.0 kernel.  CM (casjdbsban mod) has card emulation enabled. That way you can copy cards am reuse it

I'm looking forward to that :) keep me updated if you take on this project. I can see where I could use it ;)

The galaxy S III also has NFC. I'm very interested in this project as well. Let me know how it goes.

S III is in my near future. Can't wait to see what all I can do with it. My work uses RFID, I can see one of the Admin's or HR people writing me up for getting in the doors with my phone lol.

Also, if your phone can't do this, how about some DIY for the win?

I got the SIII with nfc :D.  It is so much fun to scan all kinds of things. There are some good apps, but none of them have an actual hex editor for mifare(classic). And i know it is possible, people did it before.

Can any1 tell me the function of NFC? I only understand that NFC is used for data transfer. Any explanation would be appreciated.
