Amazing. These guys have a great mindset. An Open Source mindset.
Very nice to see such things and ideas slowly coming into reality.
Watch the video on the homepage. Cool.
I want to see where this will go in a few years.

Finally the education system is taking a step in the right direction.

It is like MIT opencourseware except you can actually get certified, and take the full course.

Too bad there are only a few courses atm.
Also, do you think such certificate would actually mean anything to an employer?
Can it actually be used to get a job easier?

Any certificat is a plus when you searching for a job,i doubt you will get a job with only one certificat. So with more certificat better chance for job

I would love to join 6.00x, but I really don't know if I'll have time for it... I still have a few days, so I guess we'll see.

Signed up for a few of the courses, Intro to AI just started. If any of you guys plan on joining it, it requires some knowledge of probability and bayesian statistics, but there is a refresher if you are new or forgot the basics.

My thing is, I'm not going to join thinking this is just another internet thing. You REALLLLLLLLLLY need to treat this as a legit college class. It might not seem like a class and will not give you a legit college credit, BUT this is what they are really teaching freshmen in college. MAKE IT FUCKING seriousness. Dropping out halfway through the class will be/and is complete shit on your part.

This is a legit class, treat it as such. Make open courseware something you can put on your resume. Really, can't stress this enough. The professors/teachers are going to treat you like a student and you ARE a student.

I really might not have time for this class, have being in college and having classes, I can't delver on this class. No time do to work and other shit. This is a legit class, treat it as such.

For those who can already program well, it would be better to get into the CS50x course. That's what I registered for, thanks for the info OP.
