I don't like the color... But I'm biased towards dark layouts... My late nights on the computer like dark sites as opposed to bright ones ;)
A simple black and white theme is professional and elegant :-*
This is what i thought of when going darker

but yeah black and white can look elegant
Funny, black and white was also the idea Zesh had, wherever he is, lol. I really like the way it looks and I only have one criticism. Perhaps the infinity symbol(not the bird) should be either darker than the bird, or have a gradient on it.
Looks awesome man, better than I even envisioned it lol.
Thanks for commenting techB. The two little dudes were a place holder image, unfortunately, because we did not make it, it couldn't be on the actual site. We decided to remove a picture from the page to turn the home screen into a news and announcements page. The latin text is just placeholder as well lol, there will definitely be an option for English, lol.
^^This.
Also, I like the two little dudes holding the word Knowledge. Maybe not keep them on the front page, but have them on the site somewhere. And maybe an option for English?
I'm diggin darkblue and dark_1 however why not have a bar/button on the page that allows you to pick whatever stylesheet you like as not everyone will agree... You have a default professional one then have other themes for registered users to useWe were already planning on doing so, actually. :)
While those templates look pretty and all, colors depend on the purpose of the site. What will the website be used for?
Lol, a second after me :) The attachment has a slightly better explanation, though. Check it out :D

The Infiniti Explanation
Site name: Infiniti, possibly infinity.
Current slogan: Cyle of knowledge.
What you get for helping: Position as an admin, moderator, community organizer, or really whatever position you'd like, as well as elite status.
Summary: I wanted to create a website that allows for the sharing of knowledge and official collaborations. I realized that there is a lot of really smart people who don't have college degrees, but could make some serious cash if they put their abilities to use outside of college. So this site will give them people to collaborate with and make projects together. If you know how to program but you are shy on ideas, or if you want to make a movie but have no actors or animators, this site would help you out alot. By hanging out in the community website, people will begin to feel more comfortable with working together, because they are actually friends. You'd be able to have a portfolio showing the things you know how to do and your goals.
One of the most important qualities of the site will be it's ability to promote innovation and intelligence through the free discussion of sometimes controversial topics, while learning as a community through projects, and combining strengths in different fields to create amazing products.
The site would also serve as a huge advertisement, as the whole community will be encouraged to promote the ideas of friends. All projects made will be posted in affiliation with the site, and we will do our best to promote them.
Also, there will be an elite position(Easy to get into the only requirement is showing a willingness to learn.), which will give people the option of working with people who they know are serious.
I also wanted to have a donation option so that we can actually make things like work stations and the like, but that of course would be in the future. There will be a terms and agreements prohibited the stealing of ideas and the like.
One particular thing that makes this site special is the concept of the actual site helping those who use it. We will use funds to promote people's ideas, create professional workstations where people can work on their projects, and organize community events. There will be the selling of things like t shirts for additional donations, and lottery like activities where everyone puts in some money, and the winner gets all, with 10 percent returning to the company. Fun things like that to get donations while benefiting the community.
Also, as the site grows in funds and members, we want to tackle more daring goals, such as the challenges in challenge.gov, and splitting the prizes between everyone who helps. Such things will also increase our prestige. Our site will also invest in companies made through it.
Because there will likely be different people from different countries participating, each place will have a community organizer, who creates projects and workshops, etc, from their designated funds(provided from the site) for their chosen community. We can also raise prestige through things like community service.
We will get the community to assist in improving the site as well, and write programs to ease project management and similar things.
As we expand in funds, we will expand the site and what it does.
The main source of money for the site will be donations, but only initially. When we have enough funds, we can begin to hire people on, and produce our own products, which will be amplified by our many affilliations and connections. By helping those who wouldn't have had free access to people to work with, money, and advertising, when they become succesful our site will "have some friends in very high places".
When we actually have employees(spanning out to the farther future now), we will branch our company out to explore different fields and innovations, because of the unique people we have from these fields.
Our goal is to promote learning, community, innovation, connections, tools, and ect. My hope is for the community to grow much like a family, with the site being the foundation that helps every other member of the family.
I had noticed that :(
The actual domain name may be infiniti forums or something similar. The actual company name may be infiniti productions or something similar. It's just whatever works, shouldn't cause any significant problems.
I personally like the darkblue template, it seems like a good balance of color and isn't super dark or super light. You mentioned possibly having the domain be "infinitiforums" or something like that, but I think that sounds a little too informal if you want it to be a serious collaboration website. Also, are you planning to make money from the website? And if so, how, membership fees, advertising, premium features?
Ok thanks, I went on the first topic before but couldn't find anything talking about money on there really. Here is a really outdated demo link of the website;looks way different now. But if you read the about page and FAQ you should find what your looking for :)
