Make sure your phone is unlocked. I have a galaxy s2 and if i plug it in but the phone is locked then i cant access anything even though it shows it plugged in. soon as I unlock the phone, I got a card and phone memory slot I can then access.

Hopefully I correctly interpreted what you were asking...

Is it an Android phone? As far as I know Samsung Kies helps establish a connection between your phone and computer, grants you access to SD card, etc. http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP

By installing Kies it should install Samsung USB drivers aswell. Also I'm not too sure about this but you may also want to enable USB Debugging from your settings. It can be found at Settings -> Applications -> Development - then tick the box "USB debugging".

If it is an android phone, try this:
- exit any samsung software on the pc
- Go to Settings and enable USB debugging
- Leave settings screen (press home button)
- plug the USB cable to the PC and then to the phone
- press "Connect USB storage" under the pull down status/settings bar (or what ever you call it)

If it doesn't work, do the same as above with samsung pc suite opened on the pc.

Might help
