: Easy question
: Code.Illusionist December 29, 2012, 02:19:57 AM
Something quite simple:
6-1*0+2/2=?
: Re: Easy question
: iTpHo3NiX December 29, 2012, 02:28:13 AM
6-1*0+2/2
6-0+2/2
6-0+1
7

I think.... its been a while and I don't remember what you do first... if it's not that then it's

6-1*0+2/2
5*0+2/2
0+2/2
0+1
1

dunno which one it is... are then any ()?

I'll wait a bit before I asnwer since it's not fair others don't try. Let's see more people try. :D

PEMDAS?

6-1*0+2/2

1*0=0

6-0+2/2

2/2=1

6-0+1

6-0=6

6+1

6+1=7

answer 7.
We have answered homework before, but this is not the place for QA in what a teacher gives you. If I see a bunch more of stuff like this from you, it will be removed. If this is not homework and something you really needed help with, there are the steps. PEMDAS.

Homework? This is not a homework since this is quite easy to calculate. I do more advanced things in math then this.

Nah, this is actually a common troll question, because it turns out a lot of people don't know order of operations and screw it up badly.

The most popular one to troll people with is 48/2(9+3) = ?

Use BODMAS.. bracket and bar of div mul add sub

in this order..

The one I get everyone with us 2+2*2. Most everyone will get 8.

I don't need you to solve this. It was a trol question. Many people don't get true solution..
: Re: Easy question

lol you're in the wrong place for that... lol :P Anyways I completely forgot about PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction) I was right with the first one xD but I couldn't remember but I did do multiplaction, divition, addition, then subtraction :P

You know I love you techb, but in all fairness...he DIDNT say anywhere that he needed us lol. And I guess it is technically a science question though it's also pretty random haha. But those so much of that shizz going on that I don't blame you for thinking that lol.

@OP
7 is what I got the first time. And I thought I sucked at math...ah well, at least I remembered my order of operations XD

All i know is in simple math is,  the "/" and "*" goes first then the " - " and " + " comes around to play,

so the answer is 7

now i have a question,
we know
2^a = 2^b
means a = b,
my books never tot me why it is like this. It just show them as rules. So why is it like this?

besides the obvious .. here it is how..

2^a = 2^b
then
(2^a)/(2^b)=1

(2*2^(a-1))/(2*2(b-1))=1

cancel the two 2's..

and repeat.. you'll find
2^(a-(a-1))/2^(b-(b-1))

=2^1/2^1 = 1

now this can only happen if a and b were equal..

Something quite simple:
6-1*0+2/2=?
I used BODMAS and the ans is 7.Here's the solution..
6-1*0+2/2
=> 6-1*0+1  cause 2/2=1  ;)
1*0=0
=>6-0+1
=7.
The one I get everyone with us 2+2*2. Most everyone will get 8.
The ans is 6...

lol
the ans is 2.

Here is how I'll solve a=b.
Given,
2^a=2^b
then,
(2^a)/2^b=1
Since base are same therefore it'll go like this,
2^(a-b)=1.
Since anything raised to power 0 will be 1 except 0(and/or infinity.).
This shows that a will always be equal to b. 8)

For example:

a = 2, b = 2.

2^2 = 2^2

4 = 4.  This is true, and a = b.

If a does NOT equal b, then an example would be:

a = 2, b = 3

2^2 = 2^3

4 = 8.  This is obviously untrue.

Therefore, if a and b are NOT the same number, then the equation will not be equal.  Hope this clears that up.

I got everything at the first time when p_2001 explained it. No need to buzz with that problem anymore.

If you are satisfied from the answer that p_2001 gave you that's nice, but don't be rude when another member tries to help  you, maybe another member gain something from  Sacrifyce's answer, you can't tell anyone when he should post something or not.

And if you payed some attention at Sacrifyce's post you could see how correctly explains the problem.

Sorry i didnt notice that i was being rude, i just thought the replys were going off topic. So i just said that so people would   stop answering my question and keep answering Code.Illusionists simple question. Im not soo good at english so maybe some sentenses that i write may seem rude to people but im not noticing it. I hope we dont have any more misunderstandings. And sorry if any one felt bad for what i said.

Now that im done apologishog , i wont let this post go to waste so heres another problem for you guys to solve,

5+11+17+23+............+59 = ?

Its a serial that has each numbers that increases in the same amount every time . So we have to figure out the total amount . ( sorry for not being clear, i didnt study this in english )
