Ok so, I am going to be hosting a LAN party tomorrow, and unfortunately I have to choose the game. So I am going to find something on TPB that has fairly low system specs (cause not all of my friends have a shit load of cash in that lappies) download it and have it ready for them to just set up from my flash drive and then massive LAN orgy??? profit.
So I need some game idea, also try to give some kind of description on what it is and how good lan is. Keep in mind I want a LAN party not internet. So shit like WoW is out of the question. Maybe some kind of RPG like diablo 2 or a fps like left for dead would be cool. I don't expect any more that 4 or 5 people to come.

Ah, lan parties. I remember my brother had them all the time before fast internet. I always use to watch them, and I remember the mostly playing Gary's Mod. They would start off playing HL2, but the move to Gary's Mod. So those are my suggestions. Hl2 and Gary's Mod.

Team RTS games are usually fun for LAN parties (thats what we use at mine at least). You can go old and go with Age of Empires I, or Starcraft I, etc. (both found on the sale rack at target) You can also go newer with Starcraft 2 (40) or Supreme Commander 1/2 (15 on steam) but if your computers aren't the best then they may not be the best. I also heard of Artemis, a star trek like bridge simulation. The graphics are horrible, but I played it once and it was actually really fun. Just some suggestions, enjoy.

The specs for at least 2 of the computers are something along these lines.

I would image the specs would be around that for most of the people coming. So.. maybe we could hit up on some torchlight 2? I wouldn't mind playing some fairly decent graphic dungeon loot + level up game.

How about Borderlands, Killing Floor, or Payday as possible candidates for a FPS? You get the leveling and the looting aspects of game-play..

Which ones do you want? I suggest the Halo CE or Counter-Strike 1.6 old school but still fun, esp. LAN. Those games are all portable and can be run on crappy systems, obviously the better the system the better it will play, but it works good. I play Halo CE at work lol However if you're more RPG, then I got Command N Conquer, WoW III and Starcraft. I remember in high school my entire computer repair class would do LAN games, best part was the teacher was a gamer, and for a Friday presentation, he let me do it on Softmodding/Modchipping and Original Xbox, hella cool ass teacher, he'd get down on Halo too!

Freakin sweet, still need a RPG like torchlight 2 or something but give me the Halo and the Warhammer 40k
I just found a blast from the past, Baldurs gate all remastered and such. Should be interesting with lan support.

Ive always had a blast with Halo CE, star wars RTS game (forget the name, battlegrounds?), and Warcraft3. Halo CE is just bomb cause its the OG halo with the original sniper pistol and its tons of fun screaming at each other after killsnor bragging about them. I used to play these as part of the gamers club at school, wed play one game till someone let it slip to teachers it was pirated then wed play another, then they ratted me out for finding them the bypasses and codes and pirated software so we stopped being as friendly... though part of it may have been my several weeklong streak winning every single match in Halo...
Oh, and farcry the original one. That was wicked fun to. I also had a several weeklong streak in that too, "oh shit, oh shit!!! Daemons got the sniper rifle again, where rhe f is he?" Two seconds later "he got me"

My favorite was always halo 2 on lockout, my team always won. Ah hell Jacob has got the energy sword and he camping in his tower again everyone just hide lol
