There is a filter on my school internet that does not allow me to access certain websites. I would like to know if there is a way to bypass this filter. I would also like to know if there is a website that i could visit that would allow me to access those sights that are being blocked. The internet I have at my school requires me to enter in through a secured proxy. If anyone could help me with this that would be great. Thank You

first you have to find out what kind of security program or blocker it uses. What kind of security is it? does it block webpages, programs? I'd say have a look at your task manager and look for strange processes. If you find something funny get ur self admin rights and disable it.I am assuming you are using windows, right? Have a look around the forum and I'm sure you will find how to do everything. If not, however, make a GOOGLE SEARCH!!!!! Google is your best friend.
I believe someone will be able to help you but first you need to specify all the things I mentioned above.

A simple web proxy should be more than enough, google for phproxy. However, as Rafy said, depending on your leetness of your IT staff the web proxy might be blocked for all I or you know. I got a similar scenario at my school, and our IT staff are rather good(well...) so they are forcefully routing all traffic thought a local proxy and are filtering it there, however web proxy's still works for us, if their domain is not blocked.

The security program used is HackShield Pro. When i first log onto the server, with my school user Id and password, the HackShield Pro loads (i.e. there is a HackShield Pro loading bar). Once i reach the desktop i an unable to access an explorer window, or even right click. I do not know if i can access a task manager. The security program blocks webpages, and does not allow me to install programs, although programs on external devices (thumb drives) can work. I own a Macbook Pro, but have installed a Windows Parrallel and a Window's Partition, so i have Windows if i need it. I know how to log onto the administrative domain (the administrative versus the student login).
So phproxy could allow me to bypass the filter? Gladfully, our school does not have an IT staff, just one lone individual who is too busy fixing teacher's computers which constantly crash. I do know that the internet we use, is state run.
Thanks for the responses.

You could route all your traffic through a ssh tunnel. It's really easy to setup and all your traffic is encrypted.

It's not hard to find free shells, a quick google search will give you a nice list of free shells.

hope this helps.

Hey, thank you very much. I will give these a try.

OK since you are able to use external programs ,as you say , have a look at the zone releases and you'll find a process manager/hacker.Put that on your flash drive and run it on the PC you want the security bypassed. The other solution is simply install a virus on the PC.After volunteer to fix it and as you format it make a back-door.Design it carefully so that nothing will look out of place. If the computer has deepfreeze( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Freeze_(software) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Freeze_(software)) ) then download a portable version of the windows cmd and with a few lines of commands the pc won't boot again and it will need a format. It's better not to this while you are in class.

Sounds like a pain in the ass. See if Tyou can run iKat. It's designed for kiosk attacks but HackShield Pro sounds very similar. If the site's blocked or you can access a proxy there's a portable version (just the server code really) so you can bring it around. The portable one needs a webserver so you'll have to set on up on a laptop or run a portable webserver from you flash drive.

Watch the recording of "DEFCON 16- Compromising Windows Based Internet Kiosks" if you want to see iKat running

Ah may be i find something good for this :p
try use this:
DNS Jumper v1.04
If you want to change your DNS settings with one click, DNS Jumper is the best and easiest solution for you. It's freeware and portable ( does not need installation ). As you probably know, Google announced that they have released public DNS servers in order to to speed up computer user access to ..

When I was in school, I just installed the Tor Browser Bundle to a flash drive on a PC. Then, I'd plug the drive into a school computer, click "Start Tor" or something like that, and you're good to go.
This is assuming your school runs windows btw.
Here's a link:
https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser (https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser)
EDIT: My school also filtered any website with the word proxy in the URL or content.

tor is a pretty way around, better use a easy proxy in you're case

https://www.vtunnel.com/ (https://www.vtunnel.com/)
That proxy has never failed me.. dunno how they do it but I remember when I was in high school that bypassed Websence, Fortiguard, and all the various web filters I've ever come across. You should try it. Its nice and simple... However be sure to include the "https" otherwise it might now work right.
-
Drop a firefox executable onto a usb an configure it to use aprivate proxy you have setup at your house or a VPS. This should work unless they are doing something really funny. Tor an most of the known proxy sites will be blocked.

I work IT for our school district. All traffic on our network runs though our local proxy server and then our server runs through the state proxy server. I'm assuming the school is using Windows. If they are get UltraSurf. We use is here because the state blocks gmail, Yahoo mail, and anything else that is not Microsoft.

Exactly like my old school did it; But a proxy will pretty much always work.

Thats rather harsh. Actually, sounds like something that should be checked up against some laws. Microsoft gotta stop their monopoly game...

Its in our Microsoft agreement :/
It's not that bad though because it is easy to get around.
As for using a proxy server, unless you have district admin rights all proxies are blocked. Recently we opened up most websites other than Email sites, porn, and anything having to do with guns or other weapons.

Tell me, how do you block something that can use any protocol, any port and look like anything? (a proxy)
You don't actually have to answer that, its impossible. Proxies cannot be blocked.

I should have worded it a little better. We block the URL's for proxies. Our filter searches pages for proxie tags and blocks according to that.

Will only stop the guys who barely know what a proxy is. The people who wants to use a proxy, will find one.
I don't support blocking proxies, however. If you guys want a bit more robust way of blocking proxies, check out Snort. You can filter connections that contains HTML fragments of the top 10 known web proxies for an example. Or filter based on URL, etc etc. There are no limits. Additionally, you will get logs of when, who and where a proxy was attempted visited and if you run Snort in in-line mode you can immediately drop the connection in real-time.

Thanks, I will check in to it. We as a district really don't care what students/Faculty are able to access, the state decides for us. If the state says we have to block proxies then we have to do it to the best of our ability.

Come on guys. Dont be stupid. There is no universal fix for bypassing filters. It will all depend on the guys in charge for blocking you out.
Both proxies, vpn, custom DNS servers and so forth might work. But that all depends on the system you are as well. Take my school for an example. We had limited users on windows systems, we could not change DNS settings, proxy settings nor install VPN software. The only way bypassing anything there was to use web proxies. But they are not perfect, far from actually. Most does not work with facebook for instance.
Bottom line is, you want to route or hide your traffic. Meaning, some sort of proxy or proxy'ish solution is needed. Things like we have already discussed, web proxies, socks4/5 proxies, http proxies, VPN or other proxy solutions. Alternatively, get a mobile network solutions :P

don't get mad Ande VPN solves the problem in a esy and elegant way, just dumps the local conection , and all trafic is redirected trough the tunnel , plain and simple it doesen't mether what tipe of filtering it does, couse the gateway it's been changed and thouse meaning the trafic it's solved by the vpn host

It absolutely does matter on the filter. Many networks does forced proxy traffic, in which case any attempt to do other than http, https and sometimes ftp traffic will fail miserable. Most networks will block off all other ports than 21, 80 and 443, in which case any connection to a VPN will most likely fail. Some might even have traffic sensors in place, looking for things like proxies, VPN's and other solutions.
