Hey I'm having some trouble booting Ophcrack using a usb flash drive. I've already been instructed on how to do so but the only thing that displays on my screen is
SYSLINUX 3.80 2009-05-04 CBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2009 H.Peter Anvin et al".
Has anybody else encountered this problem? any solutions? Also this comes up when i install Ophcrack using tazusb but when i use usboph i get the error message
Could not find kernel image: linux
any help is Appreciated (:
Staff note: you must be color blind or something? colors fixed.

Only replying cause I once knew a girl named Melody.... /sighs and starts to reminisce
But in answer to your question, I would skip OPHcrack entirely and just use Katana. It has an OPHcrack install, as well as Kon-boot which just removes the password on the computer.
http://www.hackfromacave.com/katana.html
Just plug your USB with OPHcrack back into the computer and Format it, then follow the instructions for installation on the link I posted above and you should be golden.
The reason I suggest this is because from what I remember of OPHcrack USB install it requires a few extra files to boot properly and IDK what they are, but katana has them all for you.
Cheers and GL cracking that BF's password :P

I know this topic is old but i really need to get into my old XP PC.
I am having the same issue as Melody had, I have tried the link provided by Daemon but the domain is pending renewal.
Can anyone help me?

Can anyone help me?
Grab Hiren's, boot that up and load mini winXP. There are plenty of utilities to reset your password there...

Allthough OPHcrack is a great tool, it finds far more use in the actual breaking of the hash.
Once this is obtained it might offer access to other part of the network.
I had quite some succes with this tool.
But as already mentioned by Kulverstukas; for just gaining entry reseting the hash or adding an account is far more effective.
This is also one of the reasons for using disk encryption which would effectively beat a cold attack as such.
