: Deep Web??
: DerpyTurtle January 21, 2013, 11:44:55 PM
So I've seen some stuff about getting into the deep web but not really browsed it too much, are there any gateways you guys know of or ways to get there? Also ways of keeping myself anonymous whilst on the deep web

Download tor (https://www.torproject.org/) of course if you haven't, then go to a directory (http://evilzone.org/dppmfxaacucguzpc.onion.to) "dppmfxaacucguzpc.onion" -linked by skidiot.h first to my knowledge

http://kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page (http://kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) should get you to the deep web wiki

You could search deep web sites and append .to I think after the .onion. Or you could just download tor. Don't be fooled by the Deep web however, your are by no means anonymous.

The Hidden Wiki isn't really deep anymore, now that it is indexed by Google. It's still a pretty fun place though. Try browsing the I2P range sometime as well.

You can browse Tor without actually having the client using http://onion.to (http://onion.to), without the anonymity, however.

Well I've downloaded and used tor also been to the hidden wiki.. but I want to do some exploring on my own. I read somewhere that 4chan was considered "deep web" but I really dont think that's true because of all the people who know about it.

You can also try other such darknets. I2P and Freenet for example.

Is there any way to keep myself mostly anonymous? I use proxies when I feel the need and spoof my mac address whenever possible, also how secure are static IPs?

i'm pretty sure spoofing your mac has no effect outside your LAN, but for staying anonymous a good vpn that doesn't keep logs would be the way to go.

some links (last two require tor):

also look into liberte linux or tails linux

Whonix seems to be another good one. I think there's a post about it in the Operating System board.

Didn't I make a post about teh darknets? You need to find torchan ;) That's where you'll find the latest hidden services, that or maybe torbook. However I wouldn't recommend clicking on random onion URLs you may come across some CP and I'm not talking about Cheese Pizza. But yeah with services like onion.to and tor2web.org onion sites just aren't kicking as well as they used to... It's accessed a whole lot easier. i2p sites are good, there are also alternate DNS's you can use to access different darknets. Also there are plenty of clearweb darknets sitting underneath sites only accessible to certain IP ranges and what not. If you can easily find it, I don't concider it deepweb. Deepweb I use for more of a actually HIDDEN service and not a google"able" link to a darknet. However people use darknet and deepweb interchangeably.

If you do want to be anonymous, just run tor then through the settings setup an proxy. I would also suggest using socks instead of an http/https proxy, there more secure.

Mmmh, the deep Web, where jailbait and drugs are. And money whoring hackers.

Now I sound like someone who likes cp, so I'm gonna say that I'm not ok with that shit.

What's wrong with Cheeze Pizza? xD j/k I have the same stance on CP. It just sucks because how are you supposed to advocate a free and open internet without letting the bad in. However it's nice to see some darkweb sites not allow CP on their site. As long as it stays on shit like lolita, Forbidden Fruit, etc. whatever as long as it doesn't hit shit like the Hidden Wiki (which it does under hard candy) CP should only be accessible to the people that want it. I think they should all fucking die, but that's not the way the world works. The second one of those CP/Incest sites go down, another mirror comes right back up. I can almost guarantee there are at least 10 mirrors of lolita going around. Yeah great job Anonymous, you accomplished sooo much taking down lolita for all of .0001 seconds!

and btw Tor is NOT anonymous! Run a VPN/VPS and tunnel tor through there instead. Read our anonymity section and do that + tor and you'll be a lot more secure. Also some deepweb sites aren't just going to be sitting there and sometimes you'll try to connect and there up, other times they will be down. Simple as that.

Glad i found this so i wouldn't have to make a new thread.

So last night, while at Target, i decided to grab an 8GB USB drive and put Liberte on it; i knew i wasn't going to go out tonight so decided to lurk le deep web for first time. So get home, format drive, extract to root, run Liberte setup etc. Restart and boot from USB. I know there's easier way but I'm poor and i have shitty internet; proxies take a seriously 5 minutes to load a page.

After lurking Tor Library for a bit i stopped said to myself "This kind of fucking sucks lol". Not the deeb web or Tor Library but what i did in order to get there.

With that said is there any security/anonymity advantages from running liberte from a USB rather then just running a VPN, let's say btguard and Tor? Would this be enough to stay secure? I just like the idea of lurking knowing you hard drive isn't operating and everything your doing is running of volatile memory.

On a side note, i save d a PDF, though i did anyways, but when i loaded my USB from windows it wasn't there. Do live CDs just not let you do that? This might just be me being a noob though i've never touched a Linux based OS in my life up until this.

Unless you specifically set up persistence on the USB when installing the OS on it you won't be able to save anything at all. Every time you boot it up it will be like a fresh install. That's the security benefit of using a liveUSB. No traces are left on it when you are done with it.

Thanks.
Is it possible to save by putting in another USB into another port? Not the one I'm booting from i mean.

think i might buy a smaller one and switch it over. 8GB is too much for just having the Liberte files on it.

Yes, files can be saved in a secondary USB drive. Or even on the computer's HDD, if you mount it.
