Hey guys i just bought me an alfa AWUS036H
do i have to install any drivers on bt5 r3 for this?
i bought it because the wifi connection of my laptop is not high enough for sniffing the handshake on getting into a wifi network

if i have to install something ...
can u get me the commands i have to use on bt5 r3?
i am pretty new to the whole linux thing but i will learn how to use it :)
greetings R4ND0M

No driver install is needed, it works right out of the box.

Don't know about R3 but it runs like a charm on R1. Not luck so far bruteforcing WPA networks though :(

The rtl8187 driver is included in the kernel, doesnt matter which distro you run.
I am so annoyed by the the fact that people see backtrack as some standalone wonder.
Its a ubuntu spinoff , which is based on debian.

As long as the kernel driver is loaded it should work.
:
lsmod | grep rtl8187
