: What are your nightmares?
: rasenove March 26, 2013, 06:32:10 AM
I want to know what your nightmares are, becaus i never had any nightmares in my life. All the dreams i had were weird and give me "deja vu" sometimes. But never had any Scarey dream or anything.
I just wanted to know how its like to have  nightmares. So go on,

I was driving on a road outside my house with a motorcycle, and suddenly a flashing ambulance appeared in the horizon. I started driving the fastest I could, and I get run over by the ambulance and die. In the ambulance were my father on the bed. Then after approx.  two seconds, a Game Over thingy came and I "restarted" where I first was. The scary thing is that I was 10 when these first came, and they've been coming and coming again. I can steer the bike, altough I haven't practiced lucid dreaming.
Whenever I get this dream, I can do pretty much anything I want. And no, it's not a dream, it's a nightmare because whatever I do, I always get myself killed, and I get scared of it.

idk, haven't had one in some time now. But I think it didn't hurt. The scary thing was the dying part. And the Game Over.

::edit:: Now when I think of it, I haven't had dreams in a long time now.

when you come to a point of getting hurt or get extremely frightened in a dream or something like that you just wake up, sometimes the pain feels kinda realistic even though you're completely ok in the real world

You are what we call a; Nightmare giver.
You lack the experiance of nightmares, but you are one of the few that generates peoples nightmares when you sleep.

But seriously, idk. And you probably don't sleep.

When I was younger I had some weird nightmares were I was running from someone on a hallway, then entered a room and tried to close the door. I say tried because the door was half the door frame, and right at the moment the person got to me, the whole dream would change to something completely different from where I was. Like from a dark room to a open bright space, and then I started having lucid dreams.

Now I rarely dream at all, or if I do, I can't remember what I've dreamed.

When I was younger I had a nightmare where I was trapped in a warehouse, sat on the floor with someone who had a heavy metal chain which was wrapped around my neck and I was getting choked out.

I haven't had a nightmare in a very very long time.

When I was younger (like age 6) I was terrified of bugs in my dreams. I have no idea why, I could care less about them in reality, but every nightmare I remember that legitimately scared me involved bugs. Now I don't remember any of my dreams, even though I get an average of 6 hours of sleep a night. So I'm with you I guess, never had/ remember a nightmare in a very long time.

I have nightmares nearly every night. Without going into detail of each one I will just tell the basic subjects. Being chased, being raped, forced into prostitution, can't find my husband no matter where I look, he is cheating on me, he divorces me, my teeth crumble out of my mouth, getting stabbed, drowning, loved ones dying in terrible natural disasters, and plenty of apocalyptic scenarios. Just to name the ones that happen most. It could be any one or combination of those. Typically my emotions feel so real that it is like I can grieve while still in the nightmare. Like I can feel the heaviness of it. Don't know why I have nightmares so often, but it has only been the last few months.  :(

nightmares can happen from stress, obligations you have to do that you pushing forward, insecurity and many more if your nightmares keep you from being well rested from time to time you should bet to the bottom of it. Sleep is and will always be one of the more important things in life.

Though I  know sleep is important I don't get enough of it, I have periods of months where I only sleep 3 hrs every night for months, and I have periods where I sleep 8 hrs. I get sad or depressed if I sleep more then max 6 hrs because I get the feeling I'm wasting my time I could be learning, creating or spending it with friends. I also live in Sweden but are living on US time for the last 6 months (except a couple of days here in the end).

but back on topic
some people do not dream nightmares or at least not the kind you wake up sweaty and scared in the middle of the night from. I had a period of around 6-7 years I did not "remember" a single dream, some of this time I was on pain killers which have the ability of decreasing and increasing dreams for the "taker". so its not weird if you do not dream nightmares you will have one at some point, and tbh be glad you don't have em, they can be pretty annoying.

My last remembered nightmare was me being chased by biting monkeys through a city.
just like in a movie when you see someone being chased and jumping roof tops, throwing stuff behind you when running through a store, pushing people over to get through, sliding under things etc. just an endless run from scary biting monkeys.
and this is quite weird because I love monkeys, I think they are cute, adorable and funny.
But then again its a dream, dreams doesn't have no make sens and sometimes they are there just to make you feel alive.

I get nightmares all the time. A recurring one I had a lot when I was young was getting bit by a shark in swimming pools. My cousin showed me the first few minutes of Jaws when I was very young and I've been terrified of Sharks ever since.

Then you should know sharks don't like human flesh. They do attack surfers because the surf board with the surfer's limbs coming out resemble a turtle, which apparently sharks like to eat. Sorry about the slight off-topic.

@ relax: I too think sleeping is a total waste of time, i dont normally sleep more than 5 or 6 hours, and i almost never get stressed, not even when im sacred or feel like im in danger or what ever. A few years ago i was lost in an unknown place but no stress, exam went bad? No stress, some how i keep thinking everything will be fine becaus problem has a solution. But my head does feel a little stressed sometimes when im sad enough to "sweet through my eyes". Maybe thats why i dont get nightmares.
