Hi,
I have good knowledge of many programming languages (C/C++, PHP, Javascript, SQL, AJAX) and a lil bit of Java and Python. I want to know what language should I concentrate the most. I want to spend my summer time learning a language that will be most beneficial for hacking and reverse engineering etc.
For some reason, I want to get deep into Python but would like to get feedback from you guys.
Thanks

Honestly I think that's what you plan on doing. You would want something non platform dependent, but every language performs better in a certain area of programming (or so I've heard). I couldn't tell you which ones, but I assume its purely what circumstances you plan on using it for.

I recommend Python and there's plenty of reference information. Some good (e)books are: - Grey Hat Python(guide to hooking and reverse engineering)
- Violent Python(hackers cookbook)
These are on the forum just use the search function :)

Jesus Christ this has been asked so many times it's not even funny anymore!

If you have "good knowledge" of c/c++ and PHP you won't have to ask this question because then you will already be a experienced developers. And AJAX is only a development technique :).
So i think you should rephrase the question, and tell us your real "good knowledge" or tell use where you want to go.

There is only one language really good for reverse engineering and that's assembly.
"Hacking" is too unspecific to say more.

lol .. 2 admins replied and both are whining about the post. I know its been asked before but everyone is in different situation. Most people ask what's the best language for beginners, but I am not a beginner. I shared what languages I know and was asking which one I should concentrate during summer time.
If you don't like this post then go ahead and delete it. I wanted to hear from people who are experienced with this stuff and can give me an opinion.

Well, you see, admins are admins for a reason. With your attitude, I doubt how far you really can learn. Go concentrate on LOLCODE.

I am only saying that if you are good with c and c++ you should be able to answer this question yourself.

@Factionwars, I said it in my main post that I am leaning towards Python but would like to get feedback from you guys.
@Opoitr, here comes the troll.

If you already have good knowledge of C, go with C. Otherwise you will be using Python with C libs anyway.

No trolling because your answer lies one search away.
Python is great in anything, so learn it. What else do you want to hear?

Wow .. isn't the whole purpose of forums is to interact with other like minded people and get their feedback? As I said before, I do want to learn Python but just wanted to get other members feedbacks. Surprisingly, some people enjoy asking/giving feedback on things they enjoy.
I get what you guys are saying, but I wanted to get feedback. I guess Python it is. Thanks for the feedback.
