I don't understand why I'm getting heat for asking a question. I don't know so I ask..

The reason why I am asking is because I noticed that my internet IP and when I use ipconfig are different.

Sorry if I appear to be a noob but I won't deny that I am one since I did start learning

I've tried that, both in Linux and my command prompt, it doesn't work.

However, I did try that whatstheirip.com again, instead this time I used my gmail instead of Hotmail and it worked. But, it gave me there external IP. Is there a way I can find their internal IP by having their external one

Edit: By internal IP, I did mean mac address.. finding posts on google are confusing when some people don't know what they're talking about.

My topic is the only one that pops up when I use the search bar for anything relevant to IP.

I want to find someone's IP, by preferably not talking to them if possible. I tried whatstheirip.com but it seems to not work because I know they clicked the link, but I didn't get a message through my email.

Anyhow, is there anyway to get it through facebook or twitter since I assume that would be easiest for me..

EDIT: Found Alchemist's topic, but the website doesn't work. Says error generating link

Anyway to find someone's IP address besides using whatstheirip.com or talking to them on chat and using netstat?
