Anonymity and Privacy / Re: Route all traffic through tails?
« on: February 07, 2016, 12:03:41 pm »
My favorite thing to do is have a Damn Small Linux virtual box setup as a firewall; it's virtually undetectable, easily managed, and completely separate from my box. Acts like a sandbox and through it I route everything so it's like having an extra hop that can't even be traced back. Send all anonymized packets through the firewall.

Edit: don't forget to test your own environment for security holes from time to time. Always audit your virtual boxes.

useful vbox must haves

There are many ways but most of them require rooted devices and some knowledge of networking.

Another beautiful 0day for the scene. Thanks for taking the time. Aldo credit to the original authors for finding it obviously.

Operating System / Re: [HELP] Recommend Antivirus for Windows 8.1

Common Sense 2016. Plus on all my servers (I have twelve), there are detection, intrusion and prevention systems in place. The frequent email updates I get for reports can be more annoying than Nancy Grace but eh.. the price I'm willing to pay for a secure network.

Hacking and Security / Re: Website Defacement
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:25:08 am »
You have to first, obviously, rewrite the execution binary to gain centralized host access. Once you have access you need to program a c-sharp GUI interface to track the back end IP address so you can modify the XML packets to allow you to upload a malicious PHP file generated with Air Crack. Now, upload your handshake into the server. Now, once successfully hacked into the server. Upload your malicious esoteric deface page by replacing the /index.html. Duh...
Oh you mean..
$ echo "(;" > index.html

...Yes, this is a thing. Seriously though, who defaces sites anymore? It's always been about getting [root] shells for me.

I can attest to this. I was part of a small team to investigate <large and widely used VPN network here> for this reason and it all came down to server side weaknesses that, as it turns out, are very difficult to patch for this type of vuln.

Good luck every other company that is vulnerable. This will cost thousands to have professionally and efficiently resolved.

A few years ago there was a very large exploit in the PoS terminals at target and that was great fun. I'll check this out.

This is not my first nick. I did a lot of really stupid shit under an old nick. Some things were good, some were really really ignorant and honestly, quite immature.

The feels. I honestly used to be part of several other groups that I completely regret being part of now. In hindsight I mean. I didn't even really contribute anything but satire. Since then I switched nicks a couple times. This nick actually has meaning. It was given by a trusted online friend that I looked up to and sadly she isn't around anymore. But she saw how well I infiltrated networks and stole information almost like I had knowledge of the insides before I even got into them. Hence the nickname "architect" which is short for network architect.

General discussion / Re: Is anyone of you a minimalist?
« on: December 06, 2015, 03:06:52 pm »
The thing is, it seems you're confusing minimalism with complacency. Minimalism != cleanliness. However it can have ties with OCD but it's very rare. Some of you really need to er clean your fucking battlestations. [emoji1]

It'd be nice to see some of your minimalist setups, if you could find your way to the nearest desktop or homescreen thread that would be great. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

Then we had better get on this soon. I love a good challenge. Not to mention, I took part in the 2013 challenges. It was definitely fun.
