I recommend two, mainstream lang would be python while the other would be matlab,
they both used for mathematical/statiscal/numerical/data analysis, most especially python

2
Really dunno whats wrong cause i uploaded a new one and its doing same, @kurajber i suggest you right click on the file and click on open with, then choose winrar or any compression utility tool you have

Was just surfing the net when i came across this like 12minutes ago, really annoying when people ask
the same question all over again, the page gives the best description on the popular languages out there,
lol really love the analogies with Lord of the Rings

LINK==>> http://carlcheo.com/startcoding

And for the newcomers asking best for hacking, try choosing first from the ones listed, when you know
a thing or two about coding, the answer for best hacking would come to you

Looking for a summary look at the attachment below

General discussion / Re: Easiest programming/scripting language
« on: August 23, 2015, 11:46:03 pm »
Guess its all been said, python it is..... start with it, do as much as you can with it, if you understand the concept of coding in one language you can move to another easily.

Hmmm don't really use python much but since you just starting out i'll advice you to go with python v3, yeah yeah some might say most scripts are in v2 but that doesn't stop it being in v3 cause i know most v2 lib are now ported to v3, v2 was popular cause its older and still maintained also most people started out with it, since v3 is here to stay that you must learn(oh well its just my own point of view, some may say otherwise)

How long it might take?
Depends on how any hours you can put in a day, if you so free that you can do 10-15hrs/day then you will be alright in no time

For resources,
if you wanna start lightweight and with a project driven approach start with "Starting out with python 3rd edition by Tony Gaddis"

A more comprehensive would be "Learning Python 5th edition" though its approach is much like api tut rather than the project driven which most times we get excited about

After that would be "Programming Python 4th edition" this is more like a sequel to learning python, totally project driven lost in the named above

To complement these you can get The New Boston tutorials on python3 , some people find it hard reading only, so you could use the videos topic by topic with the ones in the book

Last but no the least Albert's inventwithpython.com, this site has free ebooks on gaming and cryptography topics (likewise you could also start with these cause it assumes no coding exp, teaches as you move....so you could use this ones to get your feet wet).
Finish these and you would be awesome in coding, you wouldn't even need someone to show you where to go next, you would know

May the force be with you!!

There's no language that is deemed easiest, any can be easy to learn, anyways first what would you like to do with programming? so we can help you choose one in that domain

Beginner's Corner / Re: Any way to practice Xcode on a PC?
« on: August 10, 2015, 04:14:14 pm »
First off, you haven't kicked up programming yet, at least the basics.....what have you been doing since cause i remembered this was you asking for c++ starter books https://evilzone.org/programming-newbies/got-my-hands-on-a-c-book-just-wondering-if-it-will-do

Second, since telling you won't do the trick(spanko tried and you still didn't listen) read this from apple dev page
https://developer.apple.com/xcode/ide
or at wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xcode

Third, dude xcode3, when you wanna start something at least try doing a little bit of research on it(i guess that bundles everything i wrote RESEARCH), xcode3 is outdated, presently yosemite came out with xcode6 now elcapitano, ios9 is coming out with xcode7 (though they all out already) so you better get a book updated with xcode6 and above

Finally, if you want a piece of advice i guess you should just start with python3 (Note: i'm a java dev) there are books on it in the ebook section

If i were asked, i would say python

You wanna do software dev i presume?
Sql is needed majorly for database... from the construct of development database comes later in line after hookin up your program, but sql this could also be first if you wanna be a database admin

You would want to know html if you were  gonna do web design which you would still learn css and a web dev lan php or java or python etc

In my opinion python is a winner in this(from the 3 languages you gave),
Learning_Path:- you learn basics of codin in python then move to sql for databases in your program then whenever you wanna move to the cloud you could still use python instead of learning another web lang then spice it up with html/css

Oh well thats my opinin.......lol we never even asked the ultimate question from you.....
WHAT DO YOU WANNA DO as in what do you wanna major in, what do you fantasize codin about
cause only with that we can optimally choose a good language for you cause there is no best but there are always preference in an aspect of what you wanna build.......
One would think you're confused cause you gave 3 versatile options
python - programming lang
sql - query lang
html - markup lang for web design
