I played with lego all the time, and now minecraft can be a nice addition to children who want to create but still use the computer.

Welcome to the Information Age, where 'big data' is the key to knowledge. What is it you are saying? Oh privacy and human rights... We don't really care about that in China.

Will it be of the same magnitude as last year? Here in Europe, the last winter was kind of soft but there's a chance that this year it will be really harsh.

Scripting Languages / Re: Directory Misconfiguration
« on: November 19, 2014, 10:22:09 pm »
I, for one, have never heard of directory misconfiguration before. Python also isn't a scripting language that I use, so I think it was nice of you to post this. It's nice to read unknown code and to learn new things.

Thanks!

Hacking and Security / Pretty nifty way to infect users on a large scale
« on: November 19, 2014, 10:08:05 pm »
This story is about a person who got infected because he bought a cheap e-cigarette from china, which had a USB charger with malware on it.

When you plug a usb device in your computer, do the drivers install from that device or is it all from windows update? If so, could someone rewrite a driver and hide malware in it? I don't know if the person got a UAC-dialog when plugging in the charger.

Hardware / Re: My Google Cardboard is on it's way!

Don't think that would work, maybe for pictures and movies... you still need a gyroscope and you need it to track your head motion, so you can't really put a computer to your face :P

That problem can be fixed by using FaceTrackNoIR or just using your mouse to look around. You are right that it wouldn't be convenient, but it is a fix.

By streaming I mean streaming by using a cable connection, USB to USB. There would be a slight delay but I'd be able to live with it. I know there are android devices that support HDMI output, now there just has to be an android phone with HDMI input :D

I excpect more apps to become available soon because GearVR will be released!

Android / Re: [Help] SystemUI stopped working

What I meant is just get a replacement trough warranty, that could be a quick (depending on the delivery time) fix.

First of all: I'm sorry man, I know how frustrating it is when a device no longer does wat it's supposed to do

I know nothing about this problem but as nothing else works, I'd go for a new rom. Maybe now it is the time for a custom rom?
Also, is the phone still under warranty?

I bought a Durovis Dive a few months back and when it arrived I realised my phone doesn't have a gyroscope  :(

'T will be awesome when someone creates a good streaming app for pc to android, that would be a game changer.

General discussion / Re: Programming Question

What about Scala?

Yes Scala too, but you need to learn Scala to do so. Most people know how to write a web-app already. The whole point of phonegap is to deliver a solution for web-designers who want to develop mobile apps but don't want to leanr a whole new language.

Also, important to know: PhoneGap is for android, IOS, windows phone, blackberry, Palm webOS, bada and Symbian.

Well that wasn't very nice...

As HTH pointed out, it is a widely used format.

If you'd like to create programs for android you could try the easy PhoneGap way, no java or eclipse involved. Just create a web application with html, css and javascript and you're good to go.

http://phonegap.com/

Learning java still is the best way to program Android Apps though.

My first guess was to go to m.evilzone.org but that just returns a nice ascii Millenium Falcon  :D

Have you tried reaching the website from a mobile device?

You can use adapters to connect USB peripherals to PS2 ports, so I don't see why you couldn't do the same with this.

I deserve a good ass kicking for forgetting this...

face-palm
