I think the best solution to use a whatever OS with virtual machines.
If you got real hacking jobs, you can't live without legal Windows and MS Office. You need to write a documentation, and some tools need windows. For example if you hired to pentest an online bank, they give you some card reader to use for login etc.
From linux distros I prefer Kali, but keep in mind, sometimes you need to deploy tools on the "target", so learn how to compile/install your tools on any server.
So, IMHO no meaning to compare hacking OS-es, you need to find a tool (not an OS) for the hacking work.
