Anonymity and Privacy / Re: Which VPN providers log what?
« on: October 21, 2011, 11:24:26 pm »
While many of these providers say they don't keep logs, when the shit actually hits the fan and lawyers and cops swarm the provider, it often ends up being a completely different situation. You have to control your own privacy, don't trust a single party to protect you. If you do, be aware of the risk you're taking and that you're putting all of it on that one person/company.

If you want to hold privacy closer to yourself and trust a network which is resistant to "malicious" proxy servers, check out the Tor Project (torproject.org)

Most large governments have tools like this. The FBI had CIPAV and Green Lantern and on the network level they had carnivore and other tools. All the more reason to keep your system on lock.

Not only ^^
I've seen somewhere around how to crack Tor ahaha.
Anyways, it might be a good tool, but I prefer to use several proxy's or something, Proxifier, HSS, CyberGhost, so many ways...

Thanks for spreading FUD about Tor with no evidence whatsoever. These claims have been refuted over and over again. Tor is free software with several independent implementations. It's used by tens of thousands of people and the code is viewed by a number close to several hundred people. You can see yourself where you're connections go and how the encryption works. If Tor was really cracked, how do people get away with all the sketchy shit they do through it? Duh.

Anonymity and Privacy / Re: Information on SMS and e-mail encryption
« on: April 01, 2011, 06:35:20 am »
For call encryption, check out Redphone by Whispersys. GSM encryption is notoriously weak and doesn't protect you from most anybody who has the ability or legal authority to intercept text messages. For email and file encryption, check out GNUPG and Thunderbird coupled with Enigmail (or Firefox with FireGPG). For disk encryption, check out Truecrypt or LUKS for linux.

General discussion / Re: Progenic

I'd have to agree with most of the folks here, progenic listing is ultimately a good thing. If anything, it drags people away from going carding sites and other sketchy shit. Newbies can be a pain to deal with, but some of them grow up to be great contributors to sites like this.

Once a week I do an exercise activity with a friend. Sometimes it's the gym, sometimes it's a hike, sometimes it's swimming, etc. I also walk pretty much everywhere I go.
