Hi, there might be some mathematical observations that are used for squaring, but my approach is quite simple. Squaring all xx combinations and finding the right combo. So let's do it step by step:
112 = 121
222 = 484

332 = 1089
442 = 1936
552 = 3025
662 = 4356
772 = 5929
882 = 7744
992 = 9801


As there are no other combinations that are eligible to the question, the 882 = 7744 works just fine.
The answer is 8+7+4=19
